MEENA BINDRA
● One of the top most women entrepreneur in India. Her
passion was in designing clothes.
● She started her business at home. She design clothes &
sell it informally. As she got eight thousand rupees as a
loan . She first hired a tailor and buy some fabric.
● Mrs Bindra‘s fabric was mostly liked by women &
popularity of her fabric made her work famous. The
popularity was rasing & she named her brand as “BIBA”.
● Time has come where the retailer has to keep large order. They
were ordering 100 fabrics with different designs.
● Her friendly nature always used to win the heart of customer.
She never consider her customer as a customer. She always
considered them her friend.
● Her elder son Sanjay was interested in helping her in business ,
After Completing MBA he immediately joined BIBA and was
handling labours, taking orders, keeping accounts etc.
● She acknowledge her elder son as an asset. The business was
rising with turnover of Rs 8 – 10 crore. Every month they have
sold more than 2000 fabrics. This became a huge expansion.
● The turning point of BIBA was when her younger son
Siddharth had joined BIBA after graduating from Harvard
University in 2002.
● They have built their first outlet were they have made a profit
of Rs 12 lakh per month. Siddharth use to handle
Management and funding. By the time of 2012 the revenue of
BIBA raised till Rs 300 crore.

pretty girl.
● Today, the mix-and-match range has a very contemporary
sensibility, and the salwar-kameez range is very ethnic,
defined by an Indian crafted look, hand-block prints, and
vegetable dyes.
● It implies sublime qualities, compelling Mrs. Meena Bindra,
the founder of Biba, to use the name for the line of salwar,
kameez, and dupattas that she launched in 1986.
● Kishore Biyani has bought the stake of 42% in BIBA , an
Indian Businessman who is the founder and CEO of FUTURE
GROUP.
Why BIBA Was A Successful Business

● At that time there were no ready-made Salwar-Kameez.


And BIBA was only industry who were selling
readymade Salwar-Kameez.
● Another point BIBA was always selling their product and
this is one of the reason they are successful are

Present and Future

● Today BIBA is producing more than 80,000 fabrics. The


annual turnover of BIBA Apparels is estimated at Rs.600
crores today.
● In terms of product line they have launched ‘BIBA GIRLS’ –
an ethnic wear collection for 2-12 year old girls.
● There are also plans to launch ‘Unstitched Fabrics’ in a big
way.”elling it every month.
FAME OF HER WORK
● BIBA Pioneered bollywood merchandising in INDIA in
2004 with ‘ NA TUM JANO NA HUM’
● Also provided costumes for blockbusters including
“Devdas,Hulchul,Baghban,Taal,Pardes,Yaadein”
● In 2012, it also won the Images Award for Most
Admired Women's Indian wear Brand of the Year.
● BIBA won the best women’s Ethnic wear brand of the
year at the CMAI Apex Awards in 2015.
