Professional ethics is concerned with the standards and moral conduct that govern the
profession and its members. List out the especial aspects of professional ethics which should
apply to professionals as well as to ordinary individuals.
Professional ethics may be understood as professionally acknowledged measures of individual
and business conduct, values, and guiding principles. Professional ethics is nothing but a code of
conduct applicable to different professions and is set up by the expert members of such profession
or professional organizations. The underlying philosophy of having professional ethics is to make
the persons performing in such jobs to follow the sound, uniform ethical conduct. In other words,
Professional ethics is defined as the personal and corporate rules that govern behavior within the
context of a particular profession.
There exists so many special aspects of professional ethics that distinguishes the practice as
ethical and is also applicable to the professionals and the ordinary people as well. And some of
them are as follows:
a. Strive to achieve high quality in both the processes and products of professional work
b. Maintain high standards of professional competence, conduct, and ethical practice
c. Know and respect existing rules pertaining to professional work
d. Accept and provide appropriate professional review
e. Give comprehensive and thorough evaluations of computer systems and their impacts,
including analysis of possible risks
f. Perform work only in areas of competence.
g. Contribute to society and to human well-being, acknowledging that all people are stakeholders
in computing
h. Avoid harm
i. Be honest and trustworthy
j. Be fair and take action not to discriminate
k. Respect the work required to produce new ideas, inventions, creative works, and computing
artifacts
l. Respect privacy and honor confidentiality
These are the aspects of the professional ethics which is applicable to any general people with
any background. The practice of some of the above-mentioned special aspects can assist us on
living on an unbiased and a well-balanced environment. In conclusion, be it professional ethics or
the general ethics, both will eventually lead towards the fair subjective environment morally
