And a local Army Reserve captain is part of the mission in the Middle East right now, helping to

process Afghan allies who have fled their homes trying to escape the Taliban. I spoke earlier
with Captain Duane Milne, who is from Malvern. Right now, he is outside of Qatar assisting
refugees who have just been flown out of Kabul.

DUANE MILNE: It's almost like something out of a movie. The people that we have brought in
that literally are coming here with the clothes on their back. I mean literally the clothes on their
back because they couldn't go home. They couldn't pack, so they literally just made a dash for
the airport.

Some of them were fearful understandably for their lives. Some of them were literally being
chased by by Taliban fighters. So it's really for them a sense of obviously thankfulness to get
out, a sense of relief.

- And Captain Milne says those who escaped are very worried about relatives who they had to
leave behind. He says he and fellow troops want to do all that they can to assist the Afghans
