Q.1 Numerical 4
1 An object is kept in front of a concave mirror of focal length of 15 cm. the image formed is 3 times the size
of the object. Calculate the two possible distances of the object from the mirror.

2 A boy stands straight in front of a mirror at a distance of 40 cm from it. He sees his erect image whose
height is 1/5th of his real height. What is the nature of the mirror? Calculate its focal length?

Q.2 Numerical(Any Two) 6

1 A 1-cm high object is placed 10 cm from a concave mirror with the focal length, f = 15 cm. Determine :
i. The image distance?
ii. The image height?
iii.The properties of image formed by the concave mirror?

2 An object is placed at a distance of 40cm from a concave mirror of focal length 15cm. If the object is
displaced through a distance of 20 cm towards the mirror, by how much distance is the image displaced?

3 An object, 4.0 cm in size, is placed at length 15.0 cm. At what distance from the mirror should a screen
be placed to get sharp image? Find the nature and size of the image.

4 An object is placed in front of a convex mirror at a distance of 50 cm. A plane mirror is introduced
covering the lower half of the convex mirror. If the distance between the object and plane mirror is 30 cm.
Find the following
i. Focal length.
ii. Radius of curvature.
iii. Make necessary diagram.

5 A convex mirror used for rear view on an automobile has a radius of curvature of 3.00 m. If a bus is
located at 5.00 m from this mirror, find the position, nature and size of the image.

6 An object of height 6 cm is placed at a distance of 10 cm from a convex mirror with radius of curvature 30
cm. Find the position, nature and the height of its image.
