CANDIDACY SPEECH

Good day, my fellow kabataan, my name is Hiziel Tolosa, a senior high school student from Don
M. Gonzalvo Memorial High School and I am running as your SK Chairman.

As a member of youth, I believe that we need responsible and reliable leaders especially here in
our barangay, because as a youth, we are in the phase of our life that we needed them not only as our role
model but to support, understand and guide us. My fellow youth, I want to be one of your guide and
supporter who will not only understand you but as much as possible give answer and response to all your
worries and concerns.

I am running as SK Chairman to serve you with all my heart and ability, I wanted that all the
youth in our barangay to live a good life and not to involve to any wrongdoings. Kabataan, to prove my
worth for your vote, let me enumerate some of my platforms and projects.

Enhancement of the youth, physically, intellectually and emotionally. Physically – by having

annual sports league, this promotes not only physical attributes of every youth, particularly the players,
but this also improves their sense of sportsmanship, but this time, as much as possible I wanted not only
the boys to participate but as well as the girls. I am planning to include in our sports league are basketball
(men and women), volleyball (men and women), badminton and chess.

Enhancing the youth intellectually, by building barangay library, with different books, either
academic books or non-academic books such as novels and stories, and have a free access to a computer,
with this it will improve the intellectual ability of every youth in our barangay. As for the emotional
aspect, free access to peer and youth counselling, to deal with all the emotional needs of every youth and
to have someone enlightened them about every aspects of adolescence, puberty and other concerns. I
believe that this is very important considering that the youth is prone to problem and challenges, like
involvement in drugs or marijuana, early pregnancies, altercation and other, I wanted that there will be a
specialist to educate and enlighten them.

Promotion of barangay cleanliness. Helping our barangay officials with their campaign to
promote cleanliness in our community, tree planting every six months, and clean and green contest for
every zone in our barangay, this are some my plan to promote cleanliness in our barangay.

This are some of my platforms and projects that I will offer to you, my fellow kabataan, with
your help and trust, and in God’s will, I am hoping that I will accomplish all this. Let’s be the best that we
can be, I know that it is possible with the help of one another! Thank you for your time, and let’s vote
wisely and intelligently.
