1. Condition:
The United States, Europe and several other nations have mandated or are in
the process of mandating that aircraft be compliant with the ADS−B Out
requirements of Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics (RTCA)
DO−260B/EUROCAE ED−102A. The mandates in the United States and
Europe include the need to have a DO−260B (Technical Standard Order (TSO)
C166b; European TSO (ETSO) C166b) based Automatic Dependent
Surveillance Broadcast (ADS−B) Out Transponder system. Additionally, in order
to demonstrate that the aircraft ADS−B OUT system is complied with the
requirement of FAA AC 20−165A (FAA 14 CFR § 91.227) and EASA CS ACNS
ADS−B Out mandates, hardware and software changes are required to meet
DO−260B/ED102A standards to support operators.
2. Objective/Benefit:
The installation of ADS−B Out and LINK2000+ allow aircraft to fly desirable
routes that conserve time and fuel. Having both systems installed opens up the
world to our clients.
