Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwath Narayan spoke at the Future Skills Conference,

emphasising that the society's strength resides in its skill, labour, and education.
“The quality of skilling needs to be emphasised a lot as it cannot be a stagnant process. Skilling is a
continuous process -- de-learning and re-learning is the way forward. In this direction, we need to put
all the effort, and all the resources should be channelized to build a right future that can happen
through proper skilling,” said C N Ashwath Narayan, Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka.
According to Narayan, the Indian government and the Karnataka government have implemented
several reforms and have prioritised skilling and education. He said that the Karnataka administration
has made it a priority to guarantee that the state's workforce receives proper and appropriate training.
Industry expectations, according to Narayan, are high and constantly shifting. The true problem, he
believes, is ensuring that everyone is employable and industry-ready. In this regard, the Karnataka
government is cooperating with all sectors, and it has created apprenticeships in addition to all other
programs.
He went on to say that the state government has overhauled the education system in terms of ITIs,
GTTCs, Engineering, Degree programs, and skill development.
In addition, the infrastructure has been upgraded to meet up current demands such as Industry 4.0, as
well as the event's theme: Designing the Future of Learning.
Takeaway:
Industry executives predicted that the learning process will undergo a transformation by 2025 or 2030.
But who would have guessed that a pandemic would completely change and, more crucially, revamp
the entire skilling strategy? We can also infer from our prior news updates that the world is beginning
to recognise the absence of efficient skills in the present workforce as a result of the pandemic.
Consequently, we must recognise that bookish knowledge is only a prerequisite. The true difficulty is
honing our professional skills and putting them to work in the real world to solve challenges and
grasp success.
