A. THE ANCHORAGE SYSTEM: this is a bridge building system that is a combination of an
anchoring equipment and anchor assemblies that will, when properly designed and installed, resist the
uplift overturning and lateral forces that occur on the supports and foundation systems
B. BEAM SYSTEM: this is a type of system that creates a single structural framing element that
contains a series of individual beams placed in parallel.
C. TRUSS SYSTEM: this system is essentially a triangulated system of usually straight interconnected
structural elements.
D. SUSPENSION SYSTEM: this is a type of system that uses the building structures in which the
elements that support the load that is wires, cables, chains etc., are subjected only to forces of extension.
E. ARCH SYSTEMS: basically this is uses curved structural forms known as arch, that carries loads
around an opening, transferring them around the profile of the arch to supports. This particular system is
used because there are no tensile stress that occur in the structure.

3. Post tensioning in the concrete is a method that can be used. This where the tendons are tensioned
after the concrete has hardened and the pre-stressing force is primarily transferred to the concrete
through the end anchorages.
Pre-tensioned concrete can also be used. This is a form of concrete used in construction. It is
substantially pre-stressed during production in a manner that strengthens it against tensile forces
which will exist when in service
