Substrate Design Engineer: Tasks / Responsibilities
Substrate Design Engineer: Tasks / Responsibilities
Job objective: design and document the substrate (Printed Circuit Board) of Electronic Control Units
Tasks / responsibilities
- Conceive the substrates relative to his assigned programs, ensuring the achievement of the targets of cost,
quality and time shared with the Electronic Product Engineer and the Substrate Design Leader.
- Design the substrate defining component placement , routing , substrate technology , stack up, size of
conductors and insulation, etc.
- Generate the necessary documentation for the construction of the substrate and its industrialization
- Support the activity of other departments during the whole product lifecycle (e.g. feasibility/offer phase,
development, industrialization, launch and maintenance of production).
Knowledge:
- Specific knowhow in PCB build up, controlled impedance needs, crosstalk issues, ground and supply
distribution planes, bus routing, EMC/EMI design techniques, etc.
- PCB manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Major international design regulations concerning substrate design (e.g. IPC).
- English language (B1 and above)
Skills:
- CAD tools (CADENCE) at advanced level
- Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
