I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, 80% of the students should be able to:
1. the students will know the meaning of subtraction
2. can solve subtraction problem
3. will actively participate to the different activities.

1. Daily Routine (10 minutes) (The president of the class will lead the
prayer)

Students will give their insight on what`s the


video is all about.

The teacher will present a video and after


watching he/she will ask a question.

“Very Good Class! Give everyone a round of


applause.”

C. Abstraction

1. Lesson Proper

Subtraction - in mathematics means you are taking


something away from a group or number of things. When
you subtract, what is left in the group becomes less.
An example of a subtraction problem is the following: 5
- 3 = 2.
Notice that there are three parts to the subtraction
problem shown.
The part you start with is called the minuend.
The part being taken away is called the subtrahend.
The part that is left after subtraction is called
the difference.
In the problem 5 - 3 = 2, the number 5 is the minuend, the
number 3 is the subtrahend, and the number 2 is the
difference.

ONE DIGIT
 9–5=4
 5–2=3
TWO DIGITS
 25 – 13 = 12
 36 – 15 = 21

ACTIVITY
The teacher will present a “Grapes” in which there’s a
question each the students need to answer.
