VIDEO 1: WHAT IS PROCESS AUTOMATION

1. What is automation?
Automation is the use of largely automatice quipment in a system of
manufacturing or the other production process. It includes PLC, sensors, robots,
motors and among the other things depends on other process.
2. What are the advantages of automation process?
An automation process helps to save time, money in industrial process. It also
helps to eleminate human errors. The other thing is automation job, it means
using automation process creates many high-paying career from maintenance
workers, engineers and programmers.
3. Describe about the 1st example?
The 1st example is talk about an automatic car wash. By dividing the process
step by step, we will get comprehenly how automation works. There are three
states in this example:
- The first step, when selecting wash, input will run program on the
controller.
- When car move across a sensor, washing process will be started.
- After the sensor detect the process are done, the controller will stop the
cycle.
4. How do the industrial automation work?
Industrial automation works exactly the same way, all of the process, it must be
begin by some sort of input (sensors, buttons, switches). These inputs will go to
PLC which will make decisions base on programming to controller. The
controller will activate outputs like motors, solenoid, heater or lights. One term
is sequential starting. It means that output will typically be programmed as an
input to the plc and combined with other input devices or programming to keep
the process running with this programming it can act like a chain reaction with
one output device starting before the next is allowed to run.
Automation has to have some aspects working together that can come from a
physical input like stop button or sensors or timers.
 Industial robots are great examples of process automation, it will replace
humans in pallet loading operations.

VIDEO 2: AUTOMSTION, ROLE OF PARTS

Automation basically gives people the tools to do step by step tasks.
There are three fundamental components:
- The measurement tells you how things are doing.
- The control, which is the brain that given the measurements decides the
actions to do.
- The actuator will execute actions from control.
Let take a simple example: Luigi is brushing.
If three corresponding components are integrated in this action, there will not
any problems.
