Literature the Winner 25/08

Recall

1- They all came to Pius house so as they could get some money for them.
2- She is the widow of a stepson of one of his cousins, and Pius doesn’t really know her or
the exact nature of his relationship to her and see her in his house, feels really
awkward.
3- They are friends and he wants money to the restoration of the tomb of a great
Bugandan hero, of which he is the custodian.
4- At the end, Pius gives money to Salongo and marries with Cousin Sarah.
5- Much to everyone’s surprise, Pius is not that upset. She tells him that both her sons
are married and she doesn’t feel comfortable having another woman in the house.
After seeing the news that Pius had won the football pools, she remembered Pius from
her wedding when he had been very helpful. She decided that he needed her help to
keep away greedy relatives and to take care of his house. And Pius notices that she is
different from the other relatives and starts to feel something for her.

Interpret

6- It makes fun of the greed of some people when they see that some people have more
money than others.
7- Compare and contrast, Cousin Sarah is a woman, while, Nantondo is a man. She is
widow and Nantondo is married. She lives with Pius, and Nantondo has his own house
with his own family. What they have in common is that both came to Pius’s house to
help him.
8- He is suspicious because he knows that if many people came to Pius’s house rapidly
since he got that money, that is because they are just interested in Pius’s money. This
shows that he is a loyal and true friend.
9- When she makes all Pius’s other relatives to clear up and she also take care of Pius’s
house while he was absent.
10- She would win a noble and athletic husband and he would receive a loyal, honest and
kind wife.

Evaluate and Connect

11- He gives some money to relief and chill his friend from the fact that he would marry
Sarah which he was against off. He didn’t like her at first, but later he saw that she had
good intentions and he started to feel something for her.
12- In some families, sometimes there may be people interested in other’s money or stuff
which may explain their strange and sudden appearance to that person with so much
wealth. For me, it is kind of realistic, it may happen, but not in all cases.
13- They made the best of their situations by finding themselves in problems and at the
end, finding comfort in each other and finally find the love.
14- I think that most of the time filled with humor and I think that we should take this as a
humorous story rather than a serious one. Basically because the actions in this story
are not as realistic as they should be.
15- Maybe to the fact that some people when they see that other one is wealthy or
important, those people come near that person just for the person’s wealth.
