Look closely at the picture below and read the information. Do you think science learners will be able to
predict the answers to the questions given below?

Answer the questions:

1. What will happen to the paper towel inside the glass when it will be submerged upside down in
the basin of water? The paper towel will not get wet
2. Will the paper towel inside the glass stay for a long time? Why? Yes , as long as the air stays
in the glass. When the glass is lowered in the water, air is trapped inside of the glass
because of the water pushing up from below. Air is less dense than water so it is able to
stay on top of the water.
