The force on q3 due to q1 is F31. The force on q3 due to q2 is F32. The total force, F3 on
q3 is the vector sum F31 + F32.
Consider three point charges located at the corners of a triangle, as in Fig. Q. 4 where
q1=q 3=5 C ,
q 2 =−2 C 1 C =10−6 C
and a = 0,1m. Find the resultant force F3 on q3. [15]
Q.5 Consider a point charge q located a distance r from a test charge qo.
[3]
(a) State the force (F) on the test charge. [3]
(b) State the electric field (E) at the position of qo due to the charge q.
(c) The Electric Field Due to a charged Rod. A rod of length 1 has a uniform
positive charge per unit length a nd total charge Q. Calculate the electric
field at a point P along the axis of the rod, a distanced from one end.
