Exclusive Original
1. Actions involving personal property where the gross value of the property does not exceed
Php 300,000 outside Metro Manila or, in Metro Manila Php 400,000
2. Actions for claim of money where the demand does not exceed Php 300,000 or, in Metro
Manila Php 400,000
3. Probate proceedings, testate or intestate, where the value of the estate does not exceed Php
2,000,000
4. Actions involving title to or possession of real property or any interest therein where the value
or amount does not exceed Php 400,000
5. Admiralty and maritime claims where the demand or claim does not exceed Php 2,000,000
6. Inclusion or exclusion of voters
7. Those covered by the Rules on Summary Procedure
8. Forcible entry and unlawful detainer
9. Those covered by the Rules on Small Claims, i.e. actions for payment of money where the
claim does not exceed Two Hundred Thousand Pesos Php 200,000.00 exclusive of interest and
costs

Delegated
Cadastral or land registration cases covering lots where:
1. There is no controversy or opposition
2. Contested but the value does not exceed Php 100,000

Special
Petition for habeas corpus in the absence of all RTC judges in the province or city

With RTC
Cases involving enforcement or violations of environmental and other related laws, rules and
regulations (Sec. 2, Rule 1, A.M. No. 09-6-8- SC).
Criminal Cases
1. All offenses punishable with imprisonment not exceeding 6 years irrespective of the amount
of fine and regardless of other imposable accessory or other penalties
2. In offenses involving damage to property through criminal negligence where the imposable
fine does not exceed Php 10,000
3. Where the only penalty provided by law is a fine not exceeding Php 4,000
4. Those covered by the Rules on Summary Procedure, i.e.:
a. Violations of traffic laws, rules and regulations
b. Violations of the rental law
c. Violations of municipal or city ordinances
d. Violations of BP 22
e. All other criminal cases where the penalty is imprisonment not exceeding 6 months and/or a
fine of Php 1,000 irrespective of other penalties or civil liabilities arising therefrom
5. All offenses committed by public officers and employees in relation to their office, including
government-owned or government-controlled corporations, and by private individuals charged
as co-principals, accomplices or accessories, punishable with imprisonment not more than 6
years or where none of the accused holds a position classified as “Grade 27” and higher.

Special

 Application for bail in the absence of all RTC judges in the province or city.

Civil cases

Exclusive Original

 The gross value claim or demand exceeds 300k if outside manila and 400k in Metro Manila
 Actions involving Personal property depending on the value
 Admiralty and marriage cases
 Probate proceedings
 Demand for Money depending on the amount.
 The assessed Value or interest of real property exceeds P20,000 outside Metro Manila and
exceeds P50,000 (Metro Manila)
 Actions involving title to or possession of real property, or any interest therein depending on the
assessed value.
 Actions where the subject matter of which is incapable of pecuniary estimation.
 Not within the exclusive jurisdiction of any court.
 Penalty that exceed 6 years of imprisonment.
 Penalty fine exceed P4,000

o Jurisdiction of designated courts over cases in violation of the Comprehensive
Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002
o Violation of Intellectual Property Rights
 All cases of money laundering act except those that fall under the jurisdiction of
Sandiganbayan.

Family Court

 One or more of the accused is below 18 yrs old, but not less than 9 yrs old.
 One of the victims is a minor at the time of the commission of the offense.
 Cases against minors cognizable under Dangerous Drugs Act
 Violations of R.A. No. 7610
 Cases of Domestic Violence against women and children.

ORIGINAL

 Jurisdictional amount cognizable by the regional trial courts in all civil actions which involve title
to, possession of, real property, or any interest therein of P50,000 in Metro Manila, except for
forcible entry into and unlawful detainer of lands, buildings.;
 Admiralty and maritime jurisdiction gross value exceeds P300,000 (P400,000 in Metro Manila.)
 In all matters of probate, both testate and intestate where gross value is more than
 Other cases in which the demands exceeds 100k. 200k in Metro Manila.
 Under section 5.2 of the securities and Regulations Code
o Cases involving devices or schemes amounting to fraud and misinterpretation.
o Intra corporate controversies.
o Controversies in the elections or appointments of directors, trustees, officers, or
managers of corporations, partnerships or associations.
o Petitions of corporations, partnerships
 Application for issuance of writ of search and seizure.
 Violations of Anti-Money Laundering Act.

 Criminal cases not within the jurisdiction of any court, except those falling under the
exclusive and concurrent jurisdiction of Sandiganbayan
 Offenses that penalty exceeds 6 years of imprisonment.
 Irrespective of fine.
 None of the accused is occupying “27” or higher salary grade.
 Penalty provided by law exceeding 4k
 Impose the maximum and most serious penalty imposable.
