BAB 1

PENDAHULUAN
1.1 Latar Belakang

Based on the Cooperation Agreement Letter No .: ……………. between PT

Pancareka Utama Engineering (PT PUE) and PT Geoservices which was signed
on… regarding the survey work Induced Polarization (IP).

This report describes the results of the IP (Induced Polarization) survey in the PT
PUE working area located in Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan Province.

1.2 Lokasi dan Aksesibilitas

The survey was conducted in Teluk Kepayang Village, Kusan Hulu District,
Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan Province (Figure 1). The journey to
the survey location was preceded by the team's road trip from Bandung to
Soekarno Hatta Airport (CGK). Then the team made an air trip to Banjarmasin
Airport until it was continued for 6 hours journey to Batulicin

1.3 Tujuan

The objectives of this IP survey are:

• Obtaining the value of Chargeability and Resistivity using the Time Domain
Induced Polarization (TDIP) method.

• Identifying the presence of anomalies (mineralization prospects) based on the

value of Chargeability and Resistivity.

• Zoning the anomalies obtained.

1.4 Lingkup Pekerjaan

TDIP measurements in Tanah Bumbu were carried out on 10 tracks with a

total length of 10 kilometers determined by PT PUE. The track consists of 4
tracks with a length of 1 kilometer for each track and 2 lines with a length of 3
kilometers for each track (Figure 2).

IP measurements were carried out using the multi-function IP tool from Zonge
International. The configuration used is Dipole-dipole, the distance between
the electrodes (a) used varies, such as: 25 meters (4 tracks), 50 meters (1
cross) and 100 meters (1 path) for n = 1 to n = 6.

UPDATE)

The personnel involved in the TDIP survey consisted of Geophysicists and

Geophysical Operators, namely Pandu Anʻamta and Mokhamad Rizki R, assisted
by 18 local personnel. The IP survey equipment used is a set of 7.5 KVA powered
IP Zonge equipment with the following details:

• GGT-10 Transmitter (Figure 4) which can produce constant current between

0.2 - 25 amperes and an output voltage of 50 - 1000 volts.
• XMT-32 transmitter controller (Figure 4), transmitter output signal frequency
controller with phase synchronization to GDP 32-II (Multi Function Receiver)
receiver either manually or with GPS time synchronization.

• ZMG-7.5 Motor Generator (Figure 4) is used to generate current to be used. This
generator is a portable engine with an alternator power capacity of up to 7500 VA
with a frequency of 400 Hz and a voltage of 115 V.

• VR-1 (Figure 4.) input voltage stabilizer from the generator to the GGT-10
Transmitter.

• GDP-32-II multifunctional measurement recorder (receiver) (Figure 5.). The

ultimate reader and data counter. This recording device can be operated in the
frequency domain and time domain.

• The porous-pot contains copper rods that come into contact with a saturated
solution of copper sulfate (CuSO4) as a potential non-polarized electrode
(Figure 6).

• Copper cable with a cross section of 1.5 mm2 to connect the porous pot to the
receiver and 2.5 mm2 cable to connect the current electrode to the transmitter
(Figure 7).

• Aluminum foil, which functions as a current electrode, is placed in a
shallow hole filled with salt water as shown in Figure 8.

• HT radio as a means of communication for the TDIP team and local power,
most HT radios are equipped with long antennas as signal amplifiers in
communicating (Figure 9).
