LEGACY SYSTEM MIGRATION WORKBENCH

1. Enter Transaction LSMW, below screen will appear:

2. Press create button, below screen will appear, fill in the description

3. Enter description and press continue button

4. Enter description and press continue button.
5. Enter description and press continue button, below screen will appear.

6. Go to path Go to>>Recording as shown below, in order to initiate recording for LSMW purpose

7. As soon you press recording button below screen will appear, where you have to

press create button, below screen will appear

8. Enter description & press continue button, below screen will appear
9. Enter transaction here and press continue button, this will lead you to
transaction “CJ02”.As soon you will finish recording & save it below screen will
appear

10. Select “Recording CJ02” head and press button, below screen will appear
11. Like this all default values will come, save it & press back button twice, below screen will appear

12. Press execute button, below screen will appear

Maintain Object Attributes

1. Select “Maintain Object Attributes” & double click on it

2. Select radio button “Batch Input Recording” & press F4 for Recording it will fetch
value of recording given on its own as displayed above, now save it & press back
button.
Maintain Source Structures

1. Double click on “Maintain Source Structures”, below screen will appear

2. Press button in order to create new source structure, below screen will appear

3. Fill in description as shown above and continue it in order to create a source file, as
shown below.
4. Save it & press back button.
Pre-Requisite for Maintaining Source Fields

1. Double click on “Maintain Object Attributes”, below screen will appear

2. Press recording overview button, below screen will appear

3. Double click on “CJ02”, structure will expand as shown below.

4. Press back button twice, below screen will appear

5. Press button, below option will come

6. Select Table option, below screen will appear

7. Press “CTRL + Y” select all items and press “CTRL + C” in order to copy all the
fields below “T- Code” field name & paste in excel sheet as shown below.
8. Arrange column in new excel sheet in pattern as displayed below :
 A, B, C, D ---  B, C, D, A

9. Copy everything choose a new cell in same excel sheet and use paste option
“Transpose” & change Char & Int values for all with “C”, as shown below
10. Go to sap(LSMW) screen & press back button, below screen will appear
Maintain Source Fields

1. Double click on button “Maintain Source File”, below screen will appear

2. Here table maintenance have to be done, follow path Source Field>>Table

Maintenance, below screen will appear

3. Enter “Field Name”, “Type”, “Length” & “Full Description” as shown above and save
4. Press back button, below screen will appear

5. Again save it and press back button, below screen will appear
Maintain Structure Relations

1. Double click on “Maintain Structure Relations” button, below screen will appear

2. Save it and press back button

Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules

1. Double click on “Maintain Field Mapping and Conversion Rules” button, below
screen will appear

2. Select “CJ02” & go to path Extras>>Auto Field Mapping as shown in below screen
3. As soon you choose this option, pop up will appear for Auto Field Mapping
4. Choose options as shown above and continue, one more confirmation message will
come accept that also, below screen will appear with auto mapping
5. Here you can assign constant values too for example I will assign constant value to

Company Code, select company code and press button, below screen
will appear
6. Assign value to company code and accept it, it will inherit constant value which you
don’t have to update in template later as it will be accepted from here only.
7. Constant value for company code accepted as shown above highlighted
Pre-Requisite for Specify Files

1. Go to “Maintain Object Attributes” & double click on it, pop up option will come as
displayed below

2. Choose No option, below screen ill appear

3. Go to recording overview button, below screen will appear
4. Double click on CJ02, below detail screen will appear

5. Here with reference to field name capture all details of WBSE as shown in below excel sheet
6. Field in yellow are the fields which will be entered using LSMW, there are user entered
values, copy last & third last row in .txt file, as in LSMW only .txt file can be used to
upload data as shown below.

7. Save it & close

Specify Files

1. Double click on “Specify Files”, below screen will appear

2. Double click on first root “Legacy Data” under Files, below pop up will come to mention
source of the file to be uploaded
3. Chose source file, name it, select radio button ”Tabular” for Delmeter & option “Field
Names at start of file” for File Structure as shown above and continue, below screen
will appear
4. Save it press back button
Assign Files

1. Double click on “Assign File”, below screen will appear

2. Save it & press back button

Read Data

1. Double click on “Read Data”, below screen will appear

2. Press execute button, below screen will appear

 3. Press back button twice

Display Read Data

1. Double click on “Display Read Data”, below screen will appear

2. Accept it, below screen will appear where you can display data you have uploaded

3. Click on last(yellow) line to display data for checking till here you have option to change
upload file, as soon you click on last line below screen will appear
4. Check all data you have uploaded through template in LSMW till now, press back button twice
Convert Data

1. Double click on “Convert Data”, below screen will appear

2. Press execute button, below screen will appear

3. Press back button twice

Display Converted Data

1. Double click on “Display Converted Data”, below screen will appear

2. Accept it, below screen will appear

3. Click on green row, below screen will appear

4. Here again you can check converted values and change in template if required, after
checking press back button twice
Create Batch Input Session

1. Double click on “Create Batch Input Session”, below screen will appear

2. Check “Keep batch input folder” & execute, below message will come

3. Accept it
Run Batch Input Session

1. Double click on “Run Batch Input Session”, below screen will appear

2. Select row & press button, below screen will appear which is very important
3. Here three options are there :
 Process/foreground : Here transaction will proceed step wise after every step you have
to press enter
 Display error only : Here processing will stop when error will come
 Background : Here processing will be done in background and nothing will happen
in forend although you can check error in log later on

4. After selecting appropriate option press Process button, after doing all process one
message will appear as below
5. Press session overview button, below screen will appear

6. sign is coming in front of session so it is successful, also have checked in system
