I. Objectives:
At the end of 1 hour session the students should be able to:

 Classify nouns according to their kinds (Common noun/ Proper noun).


 Explain the difference between a common noun and a proper noun.
 Create a proper noun from a given common noun and vice versa.

The teacher shows different pictures and asks students to search for its possible names in the word puzzle.

F. Abstraction

What is a common noun and what is a proper noun?


A common noun names any one of a class of people, places or things.
A proper noun names a specific person, place or thing. It is capitalized.

G. Application:

The teacher asks students to work in two groups. Each group will take turns in giving a common noun as
the other group gives example of its proper noun and vice versa.

H. Assessment:

Answer Exercise 3 p. 39, Enhancing English Communication Skills for Second Year.

I. Assignment:

In a short bond paper, write a short paragraph about your favorite past time using proper nouns and
common nouns
