Admiral X Lence and C Force

by Admiral Tecnomar – Yachting Hub of The Italian Sea Group

A
t the beginning of the year, the Admiral Tecnomar Group, the renowned Italian
designer and builder of luxury and sports motor yachts with lengths over 30 metres
/ 100 feet, announced that it had acquired Nuovi Cantieri Apuania.
This shipbuilding company had previously been run by Invitalia, the Italian
national agency for attracting investments and business development, sponsored by
the Ministry of the Economy and Finance.
On this occasion, Giovanni Costantino, Chairman of the Admiral Tecnomar Group,
said: “We made this acquisition in complete financial independence, which is a
tangible sign of the soundness of our approach and the solidity that makes our
work stand out. This acquisition will bring out powerful industrial synergies
between the business areas of these two companies, particularly from a production,
logistics and design point of view, but also in terms of technical know-how.”
An important effect of the acquisition of NCA – Nuovi Cantieri Apuania was the
creation of one of the biggest conglomerates in Italian and international navigation:
The Italian Sea Group.
Three major hubs belong to the group: Admiral Tecnomar, a specialist in luxury
yachting and sailing; NCA, a specialist in high-tech naval mechanics; and NCA Refit,
a specialist in refitting large ships and yachts.
When the acquisition took place, Admiral Tecnomar and The Italian Sea Group
presented a precise industrial plan with three specific development guidelines:
1) to develop and consolidate the core business of steel and aluminium mega
yachts;
2) to develop and diversify activities in the various shipbuilding areas, but with
special attention to high-tech builds;
3) to develop and expand two particularly promising segments, refitting and service
for both large ships and yachts, making use of all the partnerships with highly
qualified international brokers with which the Admiral Tecnomar Group has been
collaborating successfully for some time now. Substantial new investments for the
NCA – Nuovi Cantieri Apuania site are also provided for under this ambitious
industrial plan.
On the subject, Group Chairman Giovanni Costantino had this to say: “The decision
to acquire NCA was based on a close assessment of the structural, economic and
financial strengths of the company. Expanding Admiral Tecnomar’s production
capacity will allow us to take full advantage of the opportunities available on the
market, especially in the 50+ metre vessel segment. Naturally, from a commercial
point of view, we will operate in two very distinct markets, but by incorporating
such solid competence in the field of naval mechanics, we also intend to give
the Admiral Tecnomar brand greater authoritativeness, with the potential to
consolidate further its leading position in the luxury mega yacht segment.”
Admiral Tecnomar is a company in full expansion and a dynamic business that over
a few short years has become a reference point within the most exclusive sector of
navigation. Under the Tecnomar brand, it builds vessels with lengths from 30 to
49 metres, conspicuous for sportiness and design.
The composite production has been abandoned also for the Tecnomar brand,
actually, the new Tecnomar Nadara alloy is already under construction Under the
Admiral brand, it builds metal vessels with lengths from 35 to 80 metres, marked
out by high class and the utmost prestigiousness.

The use of the space and its intended purpose are therefore unusual. The new
model is offered on the international market in the context of a shared design
philosophy inspired by technical and construction excellence with three length
options: 47 metres, 57 metres and 65 metres. All the models in the X Lence line
have been designed to offer a variety of engine configurations: traditional in-line
heat engines, diesel-electric engines and hybrid engines.
The design of the hull and the water lines was produced so as to achieve highly
appealing results: for example, the 47 metres will have the capacity to load 70,000
litres of fuel with the option of increasing this to 80,000 litres by way of extra load,
for an autonomy range equivalent to 6,150 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12
knots and with a power requirement of 352 kW.
Moving on to diesel-electric propulsion, at a speed of 9 knots, the autonomy range
increases to 15,800 nautical miles, all with the silence in navigation typical of
sailboats. The maximum speed achievable with two MTU 12V2000M72 engines,
each supplying 1,080 kW, is 16 knots, although alternatively it is possible to opt for
more powerful propulsion consisting of two MTU 12V2000M53 engines to achieve
a top speed of 18 knots.
All the models in the X Lence line have been specifically designed to obtain “Ice
Class” certification and to meet any additional requirement needed. Optimisation
of the design development has allowed Admiral Tecnomar to devise technical naval
platforms capable of meeting the most varied stylistic and design needs in full. It’s
an integrated vision and one that immediately contrasts the X Lence series with the
C Force series.
