Judgement : In April 2014, supreme court created the third gender


status as transgenders, as they were earlier forced to write male or
female against their gender. According to supreme court,”absence of
law recognizing transgenders as third gender could not be continued asa
a ground to discriminate them in availing equal opportunities in
education and employment.

Judgement : The precursor to the sexual harassment of women at work


place Act,2013, the vishakha guideline were introduced in 1997. It came
about as a result of the atrocious treatment meted out to Bhawani Devi,
who was gang raped by 5 landlords after she tried to prevent child
marraige as part of her Government duties. Non of the accused were ever
charged.

motor vehicle rules to end the use of red or any coloured beacon by all including the
president, vice president and the prime minister.
