This study recommends:

1. Further studies for the factors that affect the outcome of acute epidural

hematoma will help in reaching better outcome and decreased mortality rates in

such severe traumatic brain insult.

2. As road traffic accidents are considered the main cause of acute traumatic

epidural hematoma, measures by authorities should be taken to decrease its rate.

3. Community education concerning early transfer of head injured patients to

specialized centers.

4. Physicians in the casualty and emergency departments should be aware about the

quick dealing with hypotension and hypoxia in all patients with head injury.

5. Early CT should be done immediately without delay for any head injured patient

who develops motor lag, unequal pupils, disturbed level of consciousness, or

seizures.

6. Frequent clinical and radiological follow up of patients with acute traumatic

epidural hematoma helps in detection of early deterioration and thus early

management and better prognosis.
