CLE 3

1
God our Father, we praise and thank you for this day.
Watch and guide over us as we discover new things
through our lessons and understand everything that we
are going to learn. Bless our family, our teachers, our
classmates and our friends and grant that we may
always be kind towards others and help us in every way
so that we may become the children you want us to be.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy
Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen.

The pictures show us that
people are communicating.
In Communication:
• One is relaying the message and
the other is receiving the message.

People can use different ways to

relay the message – by talking
verbally, writing, chatting, or texting.

Receiving the message is another important aspect of communication.

In receiving the message, people normally listen attentively to the
sender of the message.
Is it important to communicate?
It is very important to communicate because by
communicating people establish a relationship –
they share, learn, and grow as human persons.

9
Did you know that there is even
better way to communicate?

10
It is the most powerful
form of communication
we have.
When we pray, we
directly talk to God.
 PRAYER is the perfect way to communicate
with God.
 PRAYER will never change. It is the same

today as it was hundreds or thousands years

ago.
 We can PRAY and TALK to God anytime or at

any place.
As children of God, people can learn more about Him, know
Him deeper, and have a stronger relationship with Him by
always talking and listening to Him.

13
It is by praying that people as children of God
talk and listen to Him.

That is why one of the things that Jesus Christ

taught his disciples was how to pray.

CLE 3 Book pages 6-7

JESUS TAUGHT
US TO PRAY
In the Gospel story, Jesus was asked by His disciples
to teach them how to pray.
Jesus taught them the most beautiful prayer known
as the
LORD’S PRAYER.
After Jesus One day, Jesus was praying
had finished
in a certain place.
praying, one
of His
disciples
approached
Him and
said…
Lord, teach
us to pray,
just as John
taught his
disciples. 16
This is how you should Jesus faced His
disciples and taught
pray:
them how to pray.
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be
Thy name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be
done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us
this day our daily bread, and forgive us
our trespasses, as we forgive those who
trespass against us; and lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil.

17
I tell you, whatever you
Jesus further told them… ask in prayer, believe that
you have received it, and
it shall be done for you.
And when you stand to
pray, forgive whatever you
may hold against anyone,
so that your heavenly
Father may also forgive
your sins.
In Jesus’ prayer, He taught His disciples to call God
“Our Father.” This means that in prayer, we are
talking to God who is our loving and caring Father.

 PRAYER is a personal relationship

with God.
Our persoanl and intimate
relationship and conversation with
God are results of our faith in Him.

19
PRAYER also involves our relationship with our
parents, siblings, classmates, friends, and other
people.

20
JESUS is the model in our prayer
life because His life here on earth
was a life of prayer.
Like Him, we have to live a life of
prayer.
In prayer, our relationship with God
will grow.

When we have to talk to Jesus, we should not

forget to say:

I Love You
Thank You
I am Sorry
