CERTIFICATION FOR INTERNATIONAL PRODUCTS
“THE SCOPE OF WORKS AND PROCEDURES”

OVERVIEW

Based on the Republic of Indonesian Act No. 33 2014 about Halal Product Assurance in relation to
the international partnership, that the BPJPH has authorized in 1) defining the regulations and
procedures of halal product assurance in Indonesia, 2) recognizing any foreign halal certification in
Indonesia, and 3) build and develop a partnership with any foreign halal certification agency/body in
the implementation of halal product assurance. These BPJPH's authorizations are explained further in
the Indonesian Government Regulation No. 31 2019 about the scope of partnership such as 1) the
developing of the halal product assurance, 2) standardization of halal product that is allowed to enter
the Indonesian market, and 3 ) the recognizing of foreign halal certification; under coordination and
consultation with the Ministry of Religion and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, of the Republic of
Indonesia. 

To implement the regulation related to this international partnership, the BPJPH has composing the
general guidelines and procedures for international partnership with foreign halal certification
agencies/bodies under the government to government (G to G) scheme.

Therefore, the Indonesian United Committee of MSMEs Entrepreneurs (IUCME/KOPITU) in

collaboration with the Halal Center KOPITU hold the International Workshop Online on G to G
Agreement of the Indonesian Halal Product Assurance Certification for International Products that

will be held on 25th June 2020. This workshop is a follow-up of the International Workshop Online on
the Indonesian Halal Certification for Halal Certification Agencies in Foreign Countries that already
held in 19th May 2020.

The specific objectives of the workshop are to:

1. Share the updated general regulations and procedures in the Indonesian halal product assurance
certification for international products (imported products).

2. Share the updated information of supported document arrangement in composing the government
to government (G to G) agreement on the Indonesian halal product assurance certification.

3. Strengthen the network and a partnership between the stakeholders in relation with the Indonesian
halal product assurance certification.    

The target of participants of this workshop is the authority of foreign countries or its representatives in
Indonesia.
