think about gender; it tries to ensure that people rely less on
assumptions about traditional and outdated views on the role of
men and women.
• It aims to understand and take into account the societal and cultural
factors involved in gender-based exclusion and discrimination in the
most diverse spheres of public and private life.
What is Gender Sensitivity

between men and women.
• It is a way of thinking that fosters respect and compassion for others — regardless of these
differences.
• Gender sensitisation among children teaches them to rely less on subconscious assumptions
and generalisations and more on individual personality traits.
• And like most lessons, gender sensitivity starts at home.
