This document describes 5 different rocks found outside a house and provides explanations for how each rock formed:
1) A quartzite stone that formed from high temperatures molding and breaking nearby rocks.
2) A conglomerate stone formed from small stones and particles that were cemented together by natural processes.
3) A gypsum rock that formed from pre-existing rocks or crystals becoming bound to a larger rock.
4) A sandstone composed of small sand particles that were cemented together and could have originated from the nearby ocean.
5) A marble formed from the recrystallization of calcite in limestone due to the heat and pressure of metamorphism.

Place Picture of the stone Type of rock Explanation
Outside our house METAMORPHIC This rock is a quartzite
stone. Where seen from our backyard. I believe, because of the high temperature we experience here at our place the rocks was mold into a big rock and then break into pieces that’s why it becomes like this.
Outside our house SEDIMENTARY This rock is a conglomerate
stone where seen outside on our house. I believe, this rock was not like this, it was a small stones /from remaining particle and because of natural processes it was cemented together.
Outside our house SEDIMENTARY This rock is a gypsum
where also seen outside the house. I believe, this is came from pre-existing rocks or crystals but because of natural processes again, it came up with being bind to a big rock and attach to it, that’s why it was called as sedimentary rock. Outside our house SEDIMENTRAY This rock is called to be sandstone. As you can see, it was just covered by dirt but there are particles or pieces of sandstone that being united into a big rock because of natural processes also, let say it was cemented together. If you break this rocks there small particle will be scattered around and seen to be a small sandstone. Because we are near the ocean I think it could be that source also.
Outside our house METAMORPHIC This rock is called to be a
marble. And as you can see, it was covered by dirt that’s why it looks like not a marble, but it is. My explanation for this is, because of the conditions of metamorphism the calcite in the limestone recrystallizes to form a rock. Or let say it is because of the heat and pressure of metamorphism.
