The summary of 

"The Cask of Amontillado" and answer the following questions.  

Who is Fortunato?

 -Fortunato means in (Italian for “fortunate”) wears the multi-coloured costume of the

jester, including a cone cap with bells. He is fond of wine.  

Who is Montresor? 

-Montresor, face covered in a black silk mask, Montresor represents not blind justice but

rather its Gothic opposite: biased revenge. The one who killed Fortunato.  

What is Amontillado? 

-Amontillado is a type of wine, specifically, a dry, red sherry, named after the Montilla

region of Spain. The reason this is significant, is that a cask of this type of wine is very

tempting to someone who is quite the fan of alcohol, as the one who had wronged the

narrator was in this story.
