Based on UNESCO report, nearly 258 million children and youth still do not
attend class, 617 million children and adolescents cannot read and do basic math, while
less than 40% of girls and refugees are out of school. With these alarming data,
observance of the International Day Education was declared to vigorously reinforce
education in order to build a strong foundation for the youth’s future.
As part of Alam Mudja Sai National High School compliance to DepEd order
issued by DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones dated January 17, 2021, all school are
required to dedicate five (5) minutes flag ceremony on January 25,2021 together with
schools stakeholders regarding the aforementioned celebration to inform them the
importance of inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning
opportunities which are necessary tools towards the achievement of social equality and
the eradication of poverty.

The program started at exactly 7:30 in the morning. Mrs. Olga G. Tingot, an ICT
Coordinator led the Philippine National Anthem followed by an opening prayer of Ms.
Danina C. Maghanoy, Grade 7B Adviser. It was also formally opened by Mr. Alvin A.
Mudja, the Officer-In-Charge of the day. He warmly welcome the teachers, parents and
stakeholders for the said celebration. After which, Regional and Zamboanga Hymn
conducted by Mr. Robert Aliocod, Grade 11 Adviser. Ms. Anita Sabejon explained and
emphasized the significance of the International Day of Education to teachers,
students, parents and stakeholders for the betterment of the educational system. She
elaborated in her message the excessive effort of the teachers to recover and revitalize
education amidst the challenges brought about the pandemics. Two of the parents
namely: Olga G. Tingot and Mrs. Mercy Leaño expressed their reactions and feedbacks
about what they experienced in the present modular class. They said as a parent it’s not
easy for them to cater and help their children in answering the modules because some
of them were illiterate and so busy for their daily livelihood in order to survive. The mass
singing of Heal the World song was heartily sang by everyone as per order of the
Department of Education. The said song gave us a message that now is the time to
empower education by stepping up collaboration and internationally unite to place
education and lifelong learning at the center of recovery. Lastly, Closing Remarks was
delivered by Irish Regiel M. Natinga and then followed by a prayer of thanks to the
Almighty God for the success of the celebration by Elsie Balanda.

The celebration ended at exactly 9:30 in the morning. Then, few reminders to the
parents to about the upcoming of the next modules. Teachers and stakeholders were
able to partake the said activity at our school. As a result, everyone was relieved and
satisfied since the celebration went smoothly and successfully.
