In many instances, quality of life has improved for those who live in developing nations. For many developing
nations, globalization has led to an improvement in standard of living through improved roads and transportation,
improved health care, and improved education due to the global expansion of corporations it also enhances the
ability of learners to access, assess, adopt, and apply knowledge, to think independently to exercise appropriate
judgment and to collaborate with others to make sense of new situations. - Globalization produces an increased
quantity of scientifically and technically trained persons.

However, globalisation is also affecting us in a negative way. Increased transportation and the global shift of
polluting manufacturing industries has resulted in environmental degradation. Pollution is affecting people's health
and having a negative impact on biodiversity levels globally.

The Global Economy

1. The global economy refers to the interconnected worldwide economic activities that take place between

multiple countries. These economic activities can have either a positive or negative impact on the
countries involved.
2. The world economy or the global economy is the economy of all humans of the world, referring to
the global economic system which includes all economic activities which are conducted both within and
between nations, including production, consumption, economic management, work in general, exchange
of financial values .
3. The modern world-system is a capitalist world-economy which is the geohistorical system in which we
live.
4. All economic systems strive to achieve a set of broad social goals, including economic efficiency, equity,
freedom, growth, security, and stability. How these goals are prioritized and how successful an economy
is at attaining these goals influences the quality of life for all its citizens
5. Globalization creates greater opportunities for firms in less industrialized countries to tap into more and
larger markets around the world. Thus, businesses located in developing countries have more access to
capital flows, technology, human capital, cheaper imports, and larger export markets.

3. production and distribution
factors that have contributed to globalization
1. contrainerization- Containerisation is a system of standardised transport, that uses a common size
of steel container to transport goods
2. technological change - echnological change (TC) or technological development, is the overall
process of invention, innovation and diffusion of technology or processes
3. tax system- Tax System — There are three main types of taxes, each with very different properties:
progressive, proportional, and regressive

Final activity

as helping to lift people out of poverty, On the face of it, that should be good news for many developing countries,
who rely on growth to create jobs and boost living standards.

Reflection

In the midst of this global pandemic, we are reflecting in real-time on how systems undergo large-
scale transformation how government, businesses, schools, cities, and communities adapt and make
fundamental changes to existing ways of working. This issue of systems change and, more
specifically, how education initiatives scale and spread Prior to the spread of COVID-19, we had been
reflecting with our partners on how difficult it is to change a system: Systems prefer the status quo
and often require a crisis to transform. We are certainly watching this play out today many countries
have been slow to respond to the global pandemic despite significant data and advice from experts
on what measures are needed and have only leapt into action once the magnitude of the virus was
apparent.

ASSIGNMENT

1. Do you think that the global market can still recover in this pandemic ? when and how?
Answer : Financial markets can tell us a lot about the economic recovery ahead, based on their direction of
travel and how confident investors feel about the future. This is important as we emerge from the COVID-
19 pandemic In spite of the prognosis for growth if all goes reasonably well, the outlook remains highly
uncertain, and a number of alternative outcomes are possible. A downside scenario in which cases spike
early this year, necessitating further restrictions on activity, and in which the vaccination process is
delayed, would lead to weaker and more protracted recovery with global growth

Essay
1. Do we need a global intersate system ? what is nits purpose?
Answer:.
Yes, The balance of power in the interstate system prevents any single state from controlling the world economy,
and from imposing a political monopoly over accumulation. This means that "factors of production" cannot be
constrained to the degree that they could be if there were an overarching world state. Interstate relations are
those authoritative actions, understandings, or commitments of the governmental authorities--the leaders--of one
state to or with the governmental authorities of another state or its groups or citizens, either bilaterally or
through international organizations.

2. what are the challenges brought by the global intersate system?

Answer: It is the whole system of human interactions. The modern world-system is structured
politically as an interstate system – a system of competing and allying states. Political Scientists
commonly call this the international system, and it is the main focus of the field of International
Relations.
