PRACTICE No. 3
The ideal transformer
Objective:
Observe the operation of an ideal transformer by measuring
Work unit: 2. Transformers
the relationship of voltages and currents in the primary and
secondary.

PROCEDURE:
Once the preliminary calculations are done, proceed to practice.
1. Measure the voltages E1 and E2 as shown in figure 3.1.

2. Connect the two secondary windings in series and measure the voltage E2 between terminals 5 and 8.
3. Perform an electrical insulation test by measuring continuity between terminals 1 - 5 and between 2 -

4. Connect a 150 ohm load resistance across the secondary and measure the voltages and currents as
shown in figure 3.2.

REPORT:
The report document must include:

- COVER: Name of the Institution, career, subject and code, name of the professor, number and name of the
practice, number of team and members, date of the practice and date of delivery of the report.

- The development of the practice should include:

- Introduction or basic concepts of the subject to be discussed.


- Preliminary mathematical calculations.
- Armed circuit diagrams.
- Measurement tables.
- Figures and / or graphs of the waveforms seen in the oscilloscope.

- Conclusions:
- From the difficulties and problems encountered and their solutions.
- From the results of the practice and the experiences acquired.

- Bibliographic references consulted to prepare the report.
