REACTION VIDEO SCRIPT

(VIDEO INSERT FOR THE INTRODUCTION)

(VOICEOVER)
Charmaine: In the midst of pandemic, many people are living in a "new normal"
setting wherein the world is covered with fears, uncertainties and ubiquitous
spread of the virus. Most of the Filipinos are struggling in terms of job, money,
online classes and indefinite lockdowns. Some are even enduring the growls of
their stomachs from morning until noon. It is due to the fact that they have no
other choice but to face the hopeless hours; otherwise, their life span would
tick faster than one could ever imagine.
On the other side of the story, fortunately, there are privileged and kindhearted
people who went against the rise of hunger and poverty. Ana Patricia Non, a
local furniture designer, initiated to set up the Maginhawa community pantry
in Quezon City wherein anyone can donate essential foods, medicines and
other necessities. Also, residents, who are in dire need of help, can get things
in accord to their "must-haves" inside their homes. And this community
pantry has a great purpose: “Give what you can, take only what you need.”
From a tiny bamboo cart in Maginhawa Street of Quezon City, many
communities all over the country already joined the purposeful trend to reach
out and help others.

Lyn: This small action has a significant impact on others. It inspires many
places and people to set up also a community pantry. It shows that you don't
need to be rich to help others. A simple amount and help will do. So, let's not
be eaten by greed. Instead, let's help each other. Let's open our hearts and
minds because we never know how a small act of kindness could ease others'
burden.

(VOICEOVER)
Charmaine: Stella McCartney once quoted, "Everyone can do simple things to
make a difference and every little bit really does count.” We should never
underestimate the power of doing little acts of kindness to others. Let us not
take it for granted. Rather, each of us should practice it until we create a
massive step towards the betterment of our own country.

Viana: In these trying times, all of us are having a hard time. But still, there
are solicitous people who chose to help our fellow citizens. It all started with
just one community pantry then suddenly, it almost reached all corners of the
country as fast as the virus did. I am beyond grateful for the people who
started the community pantry. All of them are blessings from God. Truly,
Filipinos treasure our culture of bayanihan.

(VOICEOVER)
Charmaine: According to Barbara Mikulski, “Each one of us can make a
difference. Together we make change.” Anytime we have an opportunity to
perform an act of kindness, we should do it. We have no idea what difference a
little selflessness can make to someone's life. That's why be kind to everyone
you cross paths with and always lend a helping hand. If we live in serving other
people, world peace is never impossible. If we unite, we can all conquer fears,
uncertainties and spread of hunger and poverty.

VIANA: As we end this, we'll leave a powerful quote to you by Helen Keller,

LYN: "Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much."
