I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of:
Philippine literature in the Period of Emergence as a
tool to assert one’s identity; strategies in listening to
and viewing of informative and short narrative texts;
word relationships and associations; informative
speech forms; and use of direct/reported speech,
passive/ active voice, simple past and past perfect
tenses, and sentence connectors.
B. Performance Standard The learner transfers learning by: showing ways of
asserting one’s identity; comprehending informative
and short narrative texts using schema and
appropriate listening and viewing strategies;
expressing ideas, opinions, and feelings through
various formats; and enriching written and spoken
communication using direct/reported speech,
active/passive voice, simple past and past perfect
tenses and connectors correctly and appropriately.

A. Introduction Learning Task 1: Think and Share!

Ask the students to give words which can be


associated with the word “INTERNET”.

1. What are the helpful benefits of having an
internet?

The teacher will discuss the difference between a


website and a webpage.

B. Development Learning Task 2: Let’s Explore!

What is a website?

A website refers to a collection of web pages usually


grouped and connected together in a number of
different ways. It may also be written as “web site” or
simply, “site”.

What is a home page?

The home page is the opening page which does the


job of welcoming the website visitors; makes them
feel that they are in the right place; and immediately
explains what the website does or is made for.

Features of a Website

Sliders – refer to the changing content area that


presents ‘slides’ of visual information including large
images, texts, announcements, updates and
promotions.

Header – is the content area at the top of a website


which bears the logo, as well as the navigation menu.
This part likewise includes the taglines, addresses,
contact numbers, or buttons used to sign-up and log-
in.

Navigation menu – is the part of the header which


bears the links that take or direct visitors to other
parts of the website. This part is sometimes called
tabs, links, or pages. Some websites use secondary
navigation menu in cases where a lot of navigation is
needed and most important links should be
highlighted.

Side bar – is the area of the website which displays


information that is not part of the page’s main content
like a cll to action or links to recent blog posts or
social media accounts.

CTA “Call to Action”- is considered one of the most


essential parts of a website as it encourages visitors
to take action by guiding them on what they really
want them to do.
Footer – refers to the content area at the bottom of
every page that consist a website. This usually bears
the contact details, maps, and links to social media
accounts among others.

A website must at all times:


1. be easy to navigate;
2. be easy to read;
3. present relevant and up-to-date content;
4. use relevant design;

8. be mobile-friendly.

website for your school project. It may be about
English Lesson, a collection of short stories or any
educational topic that you want. On a separate sheet
of paper (bond paper), draw or illustrate how you
visualize that appearance and parts of your website.
Do not forget to provide 5sentence discussion or
explanation of your work.
