Reinforcement Activity 3.

Assess yourself with the following cases. What would you think or do if presented with the following?

Select and answer only 2 items/numbers.

1. A person selling a bar of gold approached you. The person says it is pure gold and showed you a shining, gold-
colored metal bar. He gave you a price and will turn over you the gold bar if you would give him the money.
2. A person tells you that a member of your family met an accident and asks you to meet him with a certain
amount of money as down payment for the hospital bill.
3. Somebody came out in the media accusing another person to be a crook.

Answer:

1. A person selling a bar of gold approached you. The person says it is pure gold and showed you a
shining, gold-colored metal bar. He gave you a price and will turn over you the gold bar if you would
give him the money.

- I have two strategies for dealing with this scenario. First, if he persists even though I show no interest
on what that person sell, I will gather the attention of the crowd so that many people will notice what
he is doing to me and ask for help so that I can leave that guy. This may be harsh, but I know it is just a
scam, so it is fine since everyone will be aware of what he is doing. The second approach is that I will
first determine if it is true because there are so many scammers out there. If the price of that gold is
too good to be true, it is a scam for me because I know the prices of gold, but if the price of gold is
higher and good, I will still check it before I pay that person because, as I previously stated, there are
scammers out there and I cannot trust anyone.

2. A person tells you that a member of your family met an accident and asks you to meet him with a
certain amount of money as down payment for the hospital bill.

- First and foremost, I will continue to not believe what they say unless they are individuals, similar to
what our parents tell us when we are children. I will not believe it because first, if they are in an
accident, they will not ask for money; they will simply notify me. Second, I will call or text the person to
see if he/she is truly in an accident; if not, I will not entertain that person any longer because I know it
is just another type of scam, and I will call the police so that he will be arrested so that he will never do
that to another person again.
