Colour Coding
1 Objective
To lay down the procedure for colour coding of transmission tower’s
items.

2 Scope
This Standard Operating Procedure is applicable for colour coding of items
belonging to transmission towers.

3 Responsibility
3.1 Dispatch Personnel will be responsible for the execution of this procedure.
3.2 Dispatch Supervisor shall be responsible for the implementation of this
SOP.
3.3 QA/QC Manager shall be responsible for the compliance of this SOP.

4 Abbreviations
SOP: Standard Operating Procedure

QA: Quality Assurance

QC: Quality Control

QA: Quality Assurance

5 Procedure
5.1 All colour codes defined in this document shall hold true for all sections of
the transmission towers.
5.2 All such colour codes shall be displayed on the rear end of the structural
items and not on the body of the items.
5.3 For the matter of easy identification and standardization, the following
colour coding shall be used.

a. 2423T+0: No Colour
b. 23S+0: Brown
c. 23T+0: Yellow
d. 23T+0: Red
e. 23T+9: Purple

5.4 Following exhibit shall indicate the colour scheme. It is only for reference
and not for specific colour comparison.

6 Distribution
6.1 Master Copy- QA/QC Department.
6.2 Controlled Copies – Dispatch Department.
