Activity 1. Routinary Activities

3. Giving house rules

Activity The students will be divided into 5 groups. Afterwards, the students will gather numerical data
(___20__ minutes) from one another.
Analysis Each group will present their outputs in a manila and explain.
(___5__ minutes)

Abstraction The teacher will discuss the concept a random variable (discrete and continuous).
(___10__ minutes) A random variable is a function that associates a real number to each element in the simple
space. It is a variable whose values are determined by chance.

A random variable is a discrete random variable if its set of possible outcome is countable.
Mostly, discrete random variables represent count data, such as the number of defective chairs
produced in a factory.

A random variable is a continuous random variable if it takes on values on a continuous

scale. Often, continuous random variables represent measured data, such as heights, weights,
and temperatures.
Application Direction: Classify the following random variables as discrete or continuous.
(___5__ minutes)
1. the number of defective computers produced by a manufacturer
2. the speed of car
3. the number of female athletes
4. the time needed to finish a test
5. the weight of sugar in a cup of coffee
6. the number of people who are playing LOTTO each day
7. the weight of newborns each year in a hospital
8. the number of siblings in a number of region
9. the number of paint utilized in a building project
10. the average amount of electricity consumed per household per month
Assessment Method Activity

Note: Fill-in any of the
four purposes Enriching/Inspiring the Day’s
Lesson
Enhancing / Improving the Day’s Give 5 examples of each of these:
Lesson 1. Discrete random variable
2. Continuous random variable
3. Compare discrete random variable and continuous
random variable.

Concluding Explain the line:

new learning.
Remarks

B. No. of learners who
require additional
activities for remediation
C. Did the remedial
lessons work? No. of
learners who have caught
up with the lesson.
D. No. of learners who
continue to require
remediation.
E. Which my learning
strategies worked well?
Why did these work?
F. What difficulties did I
encounter which my
principal or supervisor can
help me solve?
G. What innovation or
localized materials did I
use/discover which I wish
to share with other
teachers?
