DESCRIPTION S4M/ZT230/ZT410 printers at Nike stores are Direct-Thermal printers. No ribbon is involved,
these printers should never be set to Thermal-Transfer mode.
Zebra printer is experiencing the following behavior:
Unable to print labels
Labels print incorrectly
Labels print blank
Labels continuously print

RESOLUTION STEPS

1. Media Setup
The ZT410 will print labels according to the device settings.
Devices include:
Web Interface
Store Server
Printer
BOH PC

2. Web Interface
Printer Not Pingable:
a. The Ping responses like below, implies that DNS is not set up. Please route the ticket to appropriate
team to get the DNS issue fixed.

b. The Ping responses like below implies IP is not set up in the printer.

c. The ping responses is positive you can use the DNS name or IP address to connect to the web
interface of the printer.

d. Open Internet Explorer and connect to the IP address of the printer.

3. Media Setup

Click on "View and Modify Printer Settings"

Enter the password 1234

Click on "Media Setup"

Check settings in Media Setup:


NOTE:The Print Method shown below is incorrect. 
Do NOT use the Range number values listed, this is determine by calibration.

Click Submit Changes

Click home

Click on View and Modify Printer Settings

Click on Save Current Configuration

Once saved you should see:

Click Home

The printer status should be READY

Have the store test to validate a label can print.


If Status shows Warning Ribbon in please processed to Step 6

If Status shows Error Paper Out, Please proceed to Step 4

4. Paper Out Error

With the 410, the paper/label has to run through where the sensor is located for it to be able to detect
the label:

The labels have to go under the metal plate and above the black arm where the sensor is located

Once the label has been properly installed, the printer should auto-calibrate for the label. A few blank
labels will come out. If more then a few labels come out, please validate that the label is properly
installed.
If the printer changes to READY, please have the store validate the printer can now print labels.

5. Error: RIBBON IN 

Please have the store validate that nothing is stuck to the ribbon sensor near the print head.
Have them open the print head

Validate nothing is obscuring the ribbon sensor

Close the print head and have the store print a label.
If the issue still persists, please escalate to ROC.

6. PRINT HEAD ALIGNMENT ISSUES:


When label printer prints text on one side of label (left or right) but not the other

If the media prints too lightly on either the left side or right side of label- adjust the dial or dials per the
steps above

7. CONTINUOUSLY PRINT INCORRECT / BLANK LABELS ISSUE

For S4M, ZT230, ZT410 model printer, please turn off the printer by unplugging it to stop it if it is continuously printing labels.

LOG IN TO THE STORE SERVER

Please RDP in to the server from the jump-host:

Once logged in, you will need to see what the printer queue has pending.

DETERMINE WHAT IS PENDING IN THE PRINTER QUEUE

Right-click on the Windows icon:

Select "Control Panel".

Under "Hardware", select "View devices and printers".

Right-click on the ticket printer that is having the issue and select "See what's printing".

  

Now a window will pop up and will show what is pending, as shown below:

CLEAR PRINTER QUEUE

Click on "Printer".

Click on "Cancel All Documents"; this will clear the queue, which will stop the print jobs.

POWER THE PRINTER BACK UP


Please plug the printer back in and allow it to boot up. It should now be ready to use; for further issues,
please escalate the ticket to the TechOps-RetailPS-WHQ (see ESCALATION PATH section for details
below).
