Cahuinarí National Nature Park

Today together with my travel companions we want to tell you about a journey
that we will have in the Amazon, the southern part of the country.

Maybe this sounds crazy, and maybe it is, but that is not the point. The place
we want to travel to is a magical place, full of animals, water and wonderful people,
and of course we want to meet you with you.

Hoy junto a mis compañeros de viaje queremos contarles sobre una travesía
que tendremos en el Amazonas, la parte sur del país.

Quizá esto parezca una locura, y tal vez lo sea, pero ese no es el punto, el
lugar al que queremos viajar es un lugar mágico, lleno de animales, agua y
personas maravillosas, y por supuesto queremos conocerlo junto a ustedes.

Descriptión
Located: It is located in the Department of Amazonas, in the southern part of
the country, in an indigenous reserve of Putumayo.
Zone: 575,500 hectares
Temperature: 20° C
Height: 120 msnm (approximately)
Flora and fauna: It has great flora and fauna, among the endemic fauna are
piranhas, alligators, anacondas, ocelots, tapirs, deer and jaguars.
In this wonderful and extensive place we find an ecosystem that has not been
altered by man, full of its majestic fauna and flora as well as the vast indigenous
culture of the tribes of this place. Among its majesty we find four types of flooded
forest, with around one hundred tolerant plants, to these precipitations; but you can
also differentiate up to three types of landscapes such as the colluvial-alluvial plains
of the rivers, so we find a great diversity of flora in the area, thanks to this there is
also a wide variety of fauna, in its waters we find species emblematic of the area
such as: the ornamental fishing fish orawana, the discus and the tamborerito and we
can even find the mythical anaconda, apart from the commercial fish used for the
livelihood of the communities, but it does not end in these species there are also the
butterfly tigers, pumas, red-skinned titis monkeys, anteaters, alligators, a variety of
amphibians, among others, in this beautiful place there are conservation of
endangered species as in the case of the mythical charapa turtle in this sector of the
country Colombian, the natives carry out the conservation of the Cahuinari river
basin for their cultural traditions.

En este maravilloso y extenso lugar encontramos un ecosistema que no ha sido alterado por
el hombre, lleno de su majestuosa fauna y flora además de la basta cultura indígena de las
tribus de este lugar. Entre su majestuosidad encontramos cuatro tipos de bosque inundable,
con alrededor de cien plantas tolerantes, a estas precipitaciones; pero también se puede
diferenciar hasta tres tipos de paisajes como las llanuras coluvio-aluviales de los ríos, por lo
que encontramos una gran diversidad de flora en la zona, gracias a esto también se
encuentra una amplia variedad de fauna, en sus aguas encontramos especies
emblemáticas de la zona como los son: el pez pesca ornamental orawana, el disco y el
tamborerito e incluso podemos encontrar a la mítica anaconda, aparte de los peces
comerciales usados para el sustento de las comunidades, pero no termina en estas
especies también están los tigres mariposos, pumas, los monos titis piel roja, osos
hormigueros, caimanes, variedad de anfibios, entre otros, en este hermoso lugar se hacen
conservación de especies en vía de extinción como en el caso de la tortuga charapa mítica
de este sector del país colombiano, los nativos realizan la conservación de la cuenca del rio
cahuinari por sus tradiciones culturales.

The Bora with a population of approximately one thousand seven hundred people
who live in the lower igora parana and the mouths of the Cahuinari river.
Los Bora con una población aproximada de mil setecientas personas que habitan en
el bajo igora parana y las bocas del rio cahuinari.
The Miraña live on the banks of the Caquetá river, their language is a family of the
Bora language

Los Miraña habitan en la orilla del rio Caquetá, su idioma es familia del idioma Bora

The Andoque or Paasiaja, currently inhabit the lower part of the Aduche canal, in
Puerto Santander and in the Caquetá river below Araracuara, they call themselves
"Paasíhaja" which means "people with the ax."
Los Andoque o Paasiaja, habitan actualmente en la parte inferior del caño Aduche,
en Puerto Santander y en el rio Caquetá abajo de Araracuara, ellos se denominan a
sí mismos como "Paasíhaja" que significa "gente del hacha".
The Witoto or Murui-muinane inhabit the middle part of the Caqueta River and its
tributaries, as well as the jungle area that goes to the Putumayo River.
Los witoto o Murui-muinane habitan en la parte media del rio Caquetá y sus
afluentes, como también la zona selvática que va hasta el rio Putumayo.
