WORD PROCESSING

Word processing is a phrase used to describe using a


computer to create, edit and print documents.
To perform word processing you need a computer and
special program known as word processor.
Word processor enables you to create a document, store
it electronically on a disk, display it on a screen, modify it
by entering commands and characters from the keyboard
$ print it on paper.
Features of word processing
 Word warp: automatic arrangement of text in lines of
specified length without the necessary of touching the
return key.
 Alignments: positioning text or numbers to specified
margin and tab setting: left, center, right, and justify.
 Indents: the setting of temporary margins within a
document differing from the primary margins used.
 Text editing and formatting facilities like bold, italic,
underline, copy, cut $ paste.
 Page numbering: automatic sequential of numbering
of pages.
 Search and replace: moving directly to a specified
words or parts of the word within a document and
replacing them with different words or word portions.
