1. Give an example of how your life is in identification with a group (club or association).

In contrast to this dynamic view, John Turner offered that self-categorization theory
provided a powerful explanation of when and why members identify with groups. From
this perspective, people join groups that represent unique and sometimes powerful social
categories. Members are attracted to and influenced by the behaviors of such groups.
Consider, for example, the political situation of Israel and the Palestinians. Being Jewish
or Arabic in this part of the world comes with a set of cultural, religious, and attitudinal
expectations that create consistency within each group and diversity between the two. A
second example is the distinction between being a member of the Republican versus the
Democratic political party.

2. Describe what could be your future career in the community. Give two reasons why you
have chosen that kind of vocation or career.

I wanted to do something in my career that is challenging, interesting, and makes a

difference in people's lives daily. In the nursing profession, you deal with many aspects
of patient care, and I enjoy the variety in the routine.

Dealing with patients and their families and helping them through what is often a difficult
time for them is extremely satisfying for me.

I chose nursing as a career because I love learning new things. As a nurse, I am always
challenging myself to keep current on medical trends and training so that I can provide
the best care to my patients. Every day as a nurse, I learn something new from my
colleagues and patients, which inspires me to explore a deeper knowledge of the
techniques and procedures I use.
