Adaptation of New Habits in the Middle of the COVID-19 Pandemic

In the middle of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has not ended. The Indonesian people
are urged to adopt new habitual adaptations so that they can live productively and stay
protected from the transmission of the virus which has claimed more than 500
thousand lives. Currently, the government of the Republic of Indonesia is no longer
using the term “new normal” which is often used during pandemics COVID-19. The
term has been changed to "new habit adaptation" or IMR. In this era, people can return
to productive activities, but still apply preventive measures for COVID-19.
First, when you want to go to the market, shop, or mall for buying groceries and other
necessities, chances are you will meet a lot of people. To prevent transmission of the
virus, make sure you keep a minimum distance from other people of 1–2 meters.
Second, when you are at a station, terminal, airport or port, make sure you always
wear a mask and apply physical distancing with other passengers. If you want to travel
by air or sea transportation, you need to fill out a Health Alert Card According to the
provisions. applicable at the airport or port.
Third, if your child can already go back to school, make sure he uses a mask that is the
right size for children. Remind children to always wash their hands with soap and
water after touching objects at school. If necessary, provide a hand sanitizer in his
school bag. Finally, when you want to exercise in the open, you are advised to
maintain a distance of 5 meters from other people when walking, 10 meters when
running, and 20 meters when cycling. Arriving at home, you do not immediately relax
or touch family members at home. Immediately clean all items that you use outside
the home. After that, immediately take a shower and change into clean clothes.
Conclusions based on these reasons, we can conclude that the adoption of new habit
adaptations in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic is very important in addition to
reducing the number of COVID-19 transmission rates. By the way it is required to use
masks when on the move outside the home and take body temperature measurements
using thermogun before entering a certain place. Apart from that, be frequent wash
hands after touching anything outdoors. Do not touch the face, such as the eyes, nose
and mouth, with hands that have not been cleaned. For your convenience, you should
always carry it with you hand sanitizer.
