NARRATIVE REPORT

Before the opening of classes, the Division of Iloilo City had set a 3-day Division In-
Service training held last May 27-29, 2019. We, the MAPEH Teachers of the Division of Iloilo City
Schools were assigned at Iloilo City National High School covered court.
On May 27, 2019, the training started with the singing of the Philippine National
Anthem followed by an opening prayer. After a welcome remarks, the first topic discussed was about
the Code of Ethics for Teachers done by Mrs. Gilda C. Gulmatico. We are being reminded of the
proper way of how teachers should act towards their students and their collegues. We are being
updated about the revisions under some sections of the said Republic Act.
After the lecture, we also discussed on the Content and Pedagogy in teaching music
done by Mrs. Bacolod. We were refreshed about the topic on how we use our diaphragm. We were
taught on how to sing songs without exerting too much effort using the diaphragmatic support. We
enjoyed the activity because we do some vocalization and we realized that if we sing properly,
evrything went smoothly and effortlessly.
On the following day, we focused on the Content and Pedagogy in Teaching Arts. We
did a hands-on in painting. Everyone participated in the activity. We were divided into groups and we
did our activity with enjoyment. After that, we posted our artworks in the covered court. Everybody
was happy that we were able to do the tasks assigned to us.
Having this in-service training, our minds were being refreshed and reminded that we
need to have some time to ponder on the things needed so that when we go back to our stations we
will be well-equipped to teach our learners and make our lessons more fun, more enjoyable for the
learners to become more participative thus making our lessons more interesting.
