Program: Help deliver meals and gifts to patients at a local hospital (Philippine Children's

Medical Center)

“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to

make” ― Jane Goodall

Everyone has an opportunity to make differences in our society. No matter how young or

old we are, we have the power in our own hands to create the impression of a small drop—

becoming a ripple, and reaching a long way. With this, our group decided to make a difference

by applying the core values that Mapua University has been inculcating to its students since

1925: Discipline, Commitment, Integrity, and Relevance.

Our program is about providing gifts and meals for the children and staff of the

Philippine Children’s Medical Center situated in Quezon City. With this, we hope to give them

comfort as they brave through their plight and condition. Hence, we would be able to fulfill our

pursuit from the subsidy to be generously provided by our reputable institution. Although the

number of recipients is still not finalized, we have settled with our target of at least 150 children

and staff. Nevertheless, our goal is not driven by the numbers. Rather, the goal is to appreciate

the true essence of our pursuit by embodying the core values as exemplary students of our dear

institution.

The rationale of the program is to make the unwell children feel loved and cared for. In

addition, we also aim to provide for the staff as appreciation for their never-ending hard work in
caring for the precious children. To do so, we plan on giving the children food, medicines, and

other things needed for their treatment. For the staff, we intend to give them a small token of

appreciation aside from the food we have primarily proposed. Hence, this will benefit the school

for they likely would be recognized for their generosity, inspiring other institutions to do the

same. That way, the school will foster the spirit of giving and become an instrument to raise

awareness about what is really happening inside the hospital.

The beneficiaries of our program are the patients and the staff of Philippine Children's

Medical Center, with a target of at least 150 recipients. Food and gifts will be given to the

children and the workers of the said hospital. Our group also decided to give medicines to those

who are in need.

Discipline, Commitment, Integrity, and Relevance-- these are the core values that a

Mapuan must possess. This project has made us realize that we can make a difference in the

smallest way possible. All things considered, our program is essentially a way for us to show our

Mapuan spirit of charity and happiness. By bringing joy and relief to the children and staff of

PCMC during such rough times, we believe that we could make an impact. This may not be

enough, but we believe we still can make a difference.
