Honor: 3rd Place in High School Science Fair 2018-2020

My partner and I placed 3 in our high school science fair for our work in developing a
biodegradable straw produced from corn husk waste two years in a row.

Award: 2nd Place in the Cobb-Paulding Regional Science Fair 2019


After placing third in our school’s science fair, we were selected to compete in the next
round of competition at the regional level. We were awarded second place for our efforts.

Award: Global Sustainability Prize 2019


In addition to placing second at the Cobb-Paulding Regional Science Fair, we were presented
with the Global Sustainability Award for the potential positive environmental impact that our
product demonstrates pertaining to the reduction of non-biodegradable plastic waste.

Award: 1st Place in Project Whale Shark Competition 2019


During the summer after my freshman year of high school, I submitted my science fair
project to the Whale Shark Initiative which is an organization located in Atlanta, Georgia
dedicated to the goal of drastically reducing plastic in the ocean and other bodies of water.
Georgia Tech sponsored this science fair in the hopes of encouraging students to develop
creative solutions to reduce pollution.

Award: 1st Place in the Cobb-Paulding Regional Science Fair 2020


After placing third in our school’s science fair, we were selected to compete in the next
round of competition at the regional level. We were awarded second place for our efforts.

Award: 1st Place in the Georgia Tech Inventure Prize 2020


I was selected to participate in the Georgia Tech Inventure Prize where my partner and I
placed first and were awarded a pro-bono patent application as a prize.

Award: 3rd Place in the National Invention Convention 2020

After placing first in the GT Inventure Prize, we advanced to the National Invention
Convention where we placed 3rd overall in the competition.

Award: Naval Research Award 2021


My science fair project was selected as the recipient of the Office of Naval Research Award.

Award: Excellence in English and Language Arts 2021


My project was selected as the recipient of the Excellence in English and Language Arts by a
panel of teachers judging my high school’s science fair.

Spanish Student of the Year


2021
The teachers of the Spanish department selected one student for this award who they felt best
showcased a passion for the Spanish language and demonstrated a genuine interest in
Spanish culture.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

“Biodegradable Straws,” Harrison High School, Kennesaw, GA 2018-2020


Georgia Science & Engineering Fair

Advisor: Paulette Allard

My partner and I produced a biodegradable straw out of corn husk waste that functions as
an eco-friendly alternative to traditional polymer straws. For our efforts, we were
awarded with the aforementioned honors. We continued our project into the 2019-2020
school year and continued to research topics that pertain to environmental engineering
and pollution.

“Using Voice Integrated Technology for the Purpose of Foreign Language Acquisition,”
Harrison High School Science Fair, Kennesaw, GA 2020-2021

Advisor: Paulette Allard

I designed and developed a program containing two voice activated Alexa skills using
JavaScript and Alexa lambda integration technology that supplement traditional foreign
language learning with automated prompts and discussions in a target language
(Spanish).

2018
I joined the community service club at my school, Key Club, which hosts a variety of events
to serve the local community.

YMCA/Assistant Soccer Coach 2019


I volunteer to be an assistant coach for young children at the YMCA’s on Tuesdays before
my practice.

I was accepted into the Beta Club chapter at my high school and participate in club service
