Inquire...
“to seek information by questioning“
Dictionary.com

The process of INQUIRY and RESEARCH involves the following steps:

Wonder
• What do you wonder about your topic?
• What questions do you have about the issues related to your topic?
• What do you wish you knew more about?
• Create a mind map of your topic to help you get started.

Question
• Develop a set of questions you would like answers to in relation to your topic.
• What are five questions you could use to help guide your research?
• What key words do you notice in your questions? How could these words help
you in your search?

Research
• Research the information needed to answer your questions.
• Use a variety of sources—books, articles, online databases…
• Try using different search engines—how do the results compare?
• Be sure to write down your sources as you research. You will need them to
reference your information.
• Evaluate your sources to ensure that they are accurate sources of information.

Explain
• Take notes as you research and try to put the information into your own words as
much as possible.
• Explain the information you have collected and provide your own analysis in
your final assignment.

Create
• Present your information and analysis in a well thought out and well prepared
assignment.

Reflect
• What went well? What was a challenge? What did you learn?
