‘COME & PLAY’ SCHEME

1.0 As per agreement between Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYA&S) and All India
Tennis Association AITA), the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in collaboration with All
India Tennis Association has introduced the ‘Come & Play’ Scheme in 2012 at R.K.
Khanna Tennis Stadium, DLTA Complex, Africa Avenue, New Delhi. The objective of
the scheme is to impart professional and systematic training to 75
beginners/established tennis players with the objective to ensure access to the
International standard tennis facilities at the stadium.

5.0 Training Timings:

 3.00 PM to 7.00 PM for 1½ hour session.


 3 days a week for beginners and 6 days for players who have attained a certain
level of representation/proficiency.

6.0 Process of Entry and Registration:

1. The last date of entry would be 15 May, 2013 and draw of lots will be held on

17 May, 2013 from 4.00pm onwards.
2. The selection trials for both boys & girls would be held for Nursery & level-1

through competitions on 18 & 19 May, 2013 from 10.00am onwards to select
up to 25 children.
3. The selection process of the children would be supervised by a joint committee
comprising representatives of Deptt. of Sports, MYA&S, SAI, Members of the
Sports Committee of AITA/DLTA and International Tennis Players.
4. Publicity would be given by both AITA and SAI to ensure maximum participation
by potential children of under 14 years.

5. Applications forms can be obtained from all SAI Stadia in Delhi and also from
R.K. Khanna Stadium.

7.0 Fees & Facilities:

 The registration-cum-entry fee would be Rs.75/- for selection trials.


 The monthly membership fee will be Rs.150/- per month.
 Complimentary membership will be given to BPL persons
 Women and children studying in government schools would be given

membership at 1/3 of the above mentioned free.
(The facilities to the trainees will be as per the regular coaching scheme for
trainees being run by AITA and DLTA).

8.0 Boarding / Lodging:

 The 10 elite players will be provided boarding / lodging facilities, free of cost, by
DLTA, as per their existing norms

9.0 Monitoring of player’s performance:

 A Committee comprising representative of SAI & AITA /DLTA will analyze the
progress of the player’s performance. If the progress of the players particularly
of younger age groups is not found satisfactory after three months of coaching,
the players will be cautioned and if no improvement is noticed after two quarters,
the player would be removed from the coaching scheme.
