Improvement Plans

Both teaching and learning methods must be restructured for students in order to

improve their grades, and have a bright academic future. Undergraduates are no longer

engaged in class because their attention is repurposed online. They don’t pay attention

because teachers often focus too much on the theoretical part of a class. Sometimes they

just completely overlook that practice is what matters the most.

A brand-new approach to teaching classes might grab more attention. Consider rewarding

your best students, organize weekly brainstorming classes, and set up fun projects that

awake an interest. A revamped teaching model improves outcomes because it might grab

attention. When the whole process of learning something new is fun, it automatically

instills drive.

Here are some approaches I should use to improve students’ performance:

 Allow students to work together.

 Encourage self-reflection.

 Make them excited during lecture.

 Connect student interests.

 Make goals high but manageable.

 Provide feedback and offer chances to improve.

 Track Processes.

 Provide opportunities for success.

Overall opinion about the course

From my point of view, the course plan is suitable for the level of the students. At first, I felt

the course was missing assignments, presentations, projects, and other interactive ideas.   I

tried to add some activities, but I perceived the course would be intense for the students. If

other tasks are added, it will be difficult for the students to achieve them. I communicated

with some of the higher-level students in the course, and I recognized that they have six or

seven other courses and do not have time to work on the other assignments especially

because each course requires a lot of reading. One of the ideas I'd like to add to the course in

the future is to make a linguistics conference that can be implemented by students. I tried to

establish it this semester, but it was difficult due to the Coronavirus crisis.
