Should zoos be banned? Why or why not?

Zoos should be banned, since in most cases these ones affect

physically and mentally the animals. Currently there are 37
zoos in Ecuador with 6.504 animals in which we aren’t able
to know if they are being tortured. According to MV
organizing organization, in zoos animals have a lack of
protection, they don’t have the enough place that they should
have, the animals that are left over are sacrificed or killed,
they also capture animals for the wild, and they are
traumatized in many aspects. In addition, Mimi Bekhechi,
director of international programs at PETA, explains.
"Animals in zoos suffer tremendously, both physically and mentally. They often display neurotic
behavior, like repetitive pacing, swaying, and bar biting.” (Draven, James. “Hot Topic: Is It Time
for Zoos to Be Banned?” National Geographic, 8 July 2021.) These places most
of the times just work for the entertainment of humans but for that cost, animals
suffer and there is no voice to speak for them of for what they are going through.
The most common animals seen are Giraffes, Elephants, monkeys, tigers,
Rhinoceros, deer’s, serpents, and peacocks. Zoos aren’t safe for humans either,
this is because in some cases the animals for the fact that they are keep in
captivity they get to the point in with they hurt, harm, or even kill humans,
especially workers or trainers. To sum everything, animals should have the same
importance as we have, they should be able to live in their natural habitat, with
their own race/family.
