Various forms of dances are known to be popular in Calbayog. In fact,
native dances such as “Tiyadot,” “Aragoniza,” “Jota Calbayoguen” and
“Curacha,” the latter figuring in the acclaimed Chito Roño film. In some
barangays in Calbayog, various forms of dances are being celebrated
through festival such as Sarakiki-Hadang Dance Festival, Karakol
Festival and many others.

In general, matters of the arts are serious business in the City of

Calbayog. So serious that the city government and the people are
spending good money, time, dedication and effort for its preservation,
popularization and sustainability.
