Lab Activities (To be done on practical file):

Biology:
1. To prepare a temporary mount of a leaf peel to show Stomata.
2. To show experimentally that carbon dioxide is given out during respiration.

Physics:
3. To determine the focal length of a concave mirror by obtaining the image of a distant object.
Chemistry:
4. To observe the action of water on quicklime and classify the reaction on the basis of its type.
5. To observe the action of heat on ferrous sulphate crystals and classify the reaction on the basis
of its basis.
6. To observe the reaction between iron nail and copper sulphate solution and classify the
reaction on the basis of its types
 7. To observe the reaction between sodium sulphate and barium chloride solutions and classify
the reaction on the basis of its type.

Instructions for writing experiments on practical file:

 Use pencil on plane side/White page of practical and blue gel or Ball pen on ruled page. Black
pen can be used for main headings. No use of sparkle pen or any other colored pen.
 Write in the following manner:
 Plane/White side - Aim, material required, chemical reaction ,diagram, observations,
conclusion and result
 Ruled side - Aim, material required, procedure and precautions.
 Mark page no. and fill index properly by mentioning full experiment name.

Project File

Make a project file of 15-17 pages. Choose any one of the given topics and research your
NCERT book and from different educational websites. Follow the guidelines given below:
a. First page will be the cover page containing your name, class, section, roll no, year, topic
name, teacher’s name.
b. Second page should be the acknowledgement of all who helped you to prepare the project.
c. Third page will contain the index.
d. Last page will be of bibliography.
e. File should be handwritten.
f. Relevant pictures (Black and white/Colour) should be pasted.
f. Colours, ball point pen, gel pen, sparkling gel and decorative items are allowed to be used
maintaining the decency.
g. Use project sheets, comment sheets, coloured A4 size sheets.
h. File cover should be decorative.
