1. Introduction

The scope of this documents is the determination of loads applied at scaffolding system and the
checking of its stability.

3. Loads definition

3.1. Dead load

The dead load is constituted by the weights of the scaffoldi,ng pipes and circulation panels (DL).

3.2. Live load

Is constituted by working circulation and tools (LL). It’s considered here as distributed load over the

circulation panels. The valuie is 0.20 kN/m2.

3.3. Wind load

Two (02) cases of wind loads (WL) are considered :
- working wind depends of the wind zone from RNV 2013 :

Ouargla - zone 3 : qref = 0.50 kN/m2.

- Maximum wind condition : qmax = 0.77 kN/m2.

3.4. Load Combinations

Two (02) states are considered :
- Service Load State (SLS) (Unfactored Loads);
- Ultimate Load State (ULS) (Factored Loads).
SLS (Unfactored Loads):
1.00 * DL + 1.00 * FL + 1.00 * LL
ULS (Factored Loads):
1.35 * DL + 1.5 * WL
1.35 * DL + 1.50 * LL
1.35 * DL + 1.5 * LL + 1.5 * WL

4. Analysis

4.1. Introduction
The configuration of the formwork is described in the following figure.

Figure 1 : Scaffolding configuration.

Three (03) types of scaffolds are used :

Moment due to maximum wind MWL (kN.m) 8.01
MDL > MWL OK

To ensure stability against wind, the scaffolding must be braced top adjacent wall.
