Praise God.

If you have your bible with you, open it with me in the book of
Psalms 27:14. It says “Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and he
shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” In NLT (New
Living Translation) version, it says there “Wait patiently for the Lord. Be
brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently on the Lord”. Praise God,
Hallelujah. May I request brother/sister________ to lead us in prayer as we
start our service this afternoon? Praise God.
Everybody say Praise the Lord! Praise God!
Would you agree mga igsuon nga kapoy maghulat? Would you agree nga
usahay puol kayo maghulat sa us aka butang? Laay kayo maghulat? Diba?
Tanan ta mga kaigusonan adunay mga butang nga ginapaabot. Some of
us are waiting for something na we are excited about.
Kitang tanan naghulat kung kanus-a ba
restricted. So kana nga mga butang ga anticipate gyud ta pirmi. Ang uban
are patiently waiting on the day of graduation kay finally makagradweyt na
gyud.
regalo.
karon wla pa natubag or gitubag sa Ginoo.
Ug dli nato
ikalimod, nay panahon nga hopeless ta. We tend to lose hope and we get
discourage. You tend to ask if God will answer your prayer. Whether it may
be about healing, spiritual aspects, financial stability, or even an unspoken
request.
Unya mangutana dayon ta nga nagbinut an man ko nganong wla man
gihapon. Nganong wla pa man? Dugay namn ko naghulat Lord. Now,
akong pangutana ninyo, try to assess yourself right now, MAKAHULAT PA
BA KO? Sa sige natog pangutana sa Ginoo regarding sa iyang tubag sa
atong mga pag-ampo, have you tried to ask yourself kung makahulat pa ba
ka?
 So karong kahapunon mga kaigsuonan, niining atong youth service,
dal-on tamo sa isa ka phrase nga nagauluhan “WAIT, ‘CAUSE IT’S
WORTH THE WAIT!” Talking about waiting mga igsuon, you have to have
patience.

 As defined, patience is the quality of being patient, as the bearing of

provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of
temper, irritation, or the like. An ability or willingness to suppress
restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay. Ang patience daw
is kanang even naa ka taliwala sa kasakitan or mga paghagit, you don’t
complain. Dli ka magbagutbot or masuko or malagot or unsa man.

Patience is
 bearing pain or trials calmly or without complaint (dal-on or pas-anon
nimo ang kasakit nga wlay reklamo)
 manifesting forbearance under provocation or strain (pag-antos)
 not hasty or impetuous (dli gadali)
 steadfast despite opposition, difficulty, or adversity (malig-on bisan
nay gisagubang na problema)
 able or willing to bear (makahimo og andam ka muantos)

Base sa deifiniton mga igsuon, makareealize ta nga patience is

something having a deep meaning. Kanang dli ka basta2 makaingon sa tao
nga “uy pasyensyoso kayo na sya nga tao”.

WHY BE PATIENT? NGANONG KAILANGAN MAN MAGHULAT?

1. Not Everyone Runs on your Schedule
When you are impatient, you are often demanding that other
people run on your schedule. This is a very selfish way of viewing
and interacting with other people, and it shows just how self-absorbed
you can be. It’s important to understand that just because you want
someone to do something doesn’t mean they should. Patience with
other people, and their schedules in life, is important to your
relationships with them. When you exhibit patience, you show other
people that you value their time and their schedule in life, and that
helps you earn other people’s respect. In relationships with others,
patience becomes a form of kindness. Think of the best friend who
comforts you night after night over the heartache that just won’t go
away, or the grandchild who smiles through the story she has heard
her grandfather tell countless times. Indeed, research suggests that
patient people tend to be more cooperative, more empathic, more
equitable, and more forgiving . “Patience involves emphatically
assuming some personal discomfort to alleviate the suffering of
those around us,” write Debra R. Comer and Leslie E. Sekerka in
their 2014 study. Ephesians 4:2 says “Be completely humble and
gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” I mean that
you should always treat others with love. If ang Ginoo kay
pasensyoso sa atong mga binuhatan nga dili mao, might as well be
patient with other people. Things might not turn according to you all
the time, but make sure that you are matured enough to bear things
in your own way.

2. Not Everything Runs On Your Schedule

Just as everyone else does not run on your schedule, it’s
important to understand that neither does everything. Sometimes
things break down. Sometimes things go wrong. Sometimes things
just don’t work out the way you want them to, and you need patience
in order to accept that truth and find solutions to any problems that
come up. Always remember that everything is not under your control.
God is in control mga igsuon. Isaiah 55: 8 says “For my thoughts
are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the
Lord”

3. Things Get Clearer With Time

Things happen in life for a reason. Sometimes you are met with
an obstacle so that you can improve something about yourself or shift
the way you are doing something and get better results. Tagaan ka
sa Ginoo og mga challenges to test your patience.
Kay we don’t know by the time nga ihatag sa Ginoo ang imong
gipangandoy, basin maprioritize nimo to nga butang rather than God.
So para mas masabtan nimo ang mga plano sa Ginoo, dli sa to niya
ihatag and then things get clearer with time. You got to realize na
“ahh sakto ra gyud diay nga wla to gitugot sa Ginoo kay ingan or
ingato or something. According to Romans 15:4 “For whatsoever
things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that
we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have
hope.” It’s not always clear when that is happening though, which is
why patience is a virtue! If you avoid getting upset about the issue,
and allow some time to pass, hindsight will give you a clear vision of
why something happened when it did. It takes time to understand
some experiences sometimes, and instead of impatiently waiting for
that moment, patience will help you do what needs to be done until
that moment. And by the time we understand, we learn that patience
is important.

4. Great Things Take Time

For instance, you can’t create a plan to start a business, snap your
fingers, and then have a successful business. It just doesn’t work that
way! You have to use time to your advantage and put your energy
towards the things that help create that successful business. (5P’s:
Product, Place, Promotion, People and Price). In other words, you
simply can’t plant a seed for a great thing and expect it to grow in a
day. It needs your nurturing in order to grow into something big. Now,
if you have been praying for success sa imong pageskwela, you
planted that prayer. In order for that seed to grow, kailangan man nag
panahon og pasensya ayha na mutubo. You have to nurture that
seed.
Dli man pwede na you’re prayin for success in your
studies pero dili ka gatuon. When you have patience, you can do all
the things that need to be done in order to create something great.
You don’t skimp over important details. You don’t rush through things
and do them half as good as they should be done. You take your time
and make sure that you tend to what you want so that it results in
something amazing. That’s why patience is a virtue when going after
big and amazing things in life. According to Romans 8:25 “But if we
hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”

In the long march of our lives, we face many options. A lot of

problems and difficult situations in the short term or the long term
awaits along the path we chose. (Sa atong pageskwela, na challenge
gyud atong patience. Naghulat gyud tang tanan kanus a ta
mugradweyt). We need the energy to continue on the journey until we
reach what we want. And that energy is PATIENCE and it is very
important on every path we take and in every single step we make.

UNSA MAN DIAY MAHITABO KUNG WLA TAY PATIENCE? WHAT

HAPPENS IF WE MISHANDLE PATIENCE? There’s only one
answer with that mga igsuon, ANGER. As defined ganina, dapat
walay reklamo. If naa that will lead us to anger.

With the internet era, everything around us move extremely fast. Sa

panahon karon, uso na ang digital, high-technology. Some of us are
even tech-savvy. And since we belong in this new era, we adapt.
Atong ipaihangay atong kaugalingon sa kabag-uhan. As we adapt,
we expect things pud to happen fast as well. For example, butang
nato na dli pa covid. Gikan kag eskwelahan unya buntagon ka. Wla
pagkaugma. Grabe noh terro kay nga maestro ugma man dayon.
Dawbi gigutom man ka, gutom gyud kayo ka. Kwarta ra ang naa sa
imo. Niadto dayon kag Jollibee. Since fastfood chain man, nag expect
nganong dugay kayo gihatag imong giorder.

 Naa puy times na we get very angry for slow internet speed. Masuko
ta nga advanced world namn kaha ni nganong hinay man kayo ang
internet.
bao ani uy. Unya busdak-busdak dayon sa mouse nga wla raba
untay labot nganong hinay ang connection. We often became
impatient and in a bad mood for small things such as being unable to
stream the videos we want to watch or download the e-books we
wanted to read. (K-drama) We have to wait mga igsuon, patiently.
People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper
shows great foolishness” ingon pa sa proverbs 14:29.
 Thinking about this, do these qualities make us better or worse off?
Kani ba atong sigeg kalagot sa ginagmay nga butang will lead us to
something beautiful? We should realize mga igsuon that many things
in our lives require long patience to deal with, such as recovering
from disease, getting good results in work, raising children ug uban
pa. All these take time to achieve and being patient is the only way to
go forward. Take note of this mga igsuon, Romans 8:25 sa NIV (new
international version) says “But if we hope for what we do not yet
have, we wait for it patiently.”
I don’t
know if nakabalo namo ani pero I’ll share gihapon basin lahi pud ang
version.
pagkaon to satisfy his belly. Sulod sa workshop, nangita sya kung
asay pwede makaon didto. Sa iyang pagpangita, nabangga sya sa
usa ka axe or ingnon nalng nato sundang ug nasamdan sya gamay.
Nanukad gyud sya. Nihunat sya pag-ayo ayha gipaak ang sundang.
Unsa may laban sa sundang sa paak sa halas. Dili man pud
Wla
namatay ang halas tungod kay sa uban. Di man sala sa karpentero
Sometimes, we try to cause harm to
others not realizing that we have caused more harm to ourselves. It’s
not necessary that we have to react on everything. We need to be
patient. For
every minute we are angry, we lose 60 seconds of happiness. In
the middle of your anger, could you still define patience? Would you
still be able to know what patience is? Atong dumuduman nga
ANGER is just a letter “D” away para mahimong DANGER. With this
danger, unsa may mawala?
 D- Delight. Psalms 37:4 says “Delight thyself in the Lord and he
shall give you the desires of thine heart” Now, unsaon man nimo
Murag kanang dli
pwede magtampo ang duh aka butang.

 A- Abidance. Abidance means the act or state of abiding. Naa bayay

mga tao nga once masuko, murag wla nakay lain paminawon but ang
imo rang kaugalingon. Psalms 37:8-9 says “Cease from anger, and
forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers
shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall
inherit the earth. 2 John 1:9 says “Anyone who goes too far and
does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one
who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.” Sa
lahi ni nga version mga igsuon.

 N- New Blessings. Take for example mga igsuon, if naa kay

James 1:12
“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when
he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God
has promised to those who love him.” Now if you don’t observe
patience ug masuko lang kag kalit, you lose the blessings of God.
Compose yourself.

 G- Gratitude. “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of

God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” According to 1
Thessalonians 5:18. Naay mga tawo nga in the middle of anger,
mawala ang attitude nga mapasalamaton. If naa man gani, it might
sound sarcastic and not genuine.

 E- Enlightenment. The word of God in Psalms 119:105 says “Thy

word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” The Word
of God is an inextinguishable lamp to guide us along the right path,
and it is a radiant light that banishes the shadows of uncertainty, by
illuminating the next step in this sin-soaked world. Atong mabantayan
sa mga tao nga nakacommit og crime. Pag interbyuhon sila sa mga
reporter, mangutana man ang mga reporter nga “bakit mo nagawa
yon? Or bakit mo siya pinatay” or mga ingana nga pangutana.
He/She was eaten by his/her
anger in committing such crime.

 R- Rejoicing- ingon sa Philippina 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always:

and again I say, Rejoice”. Unsaon man nimo paglipay diha sa
Ginoo if suko ka? Wla may tao siguro muingon nga “nalipay ko” (with
anger expression).

ATONG HIMUNDUMAN MGA KAIGSUONAN NGA IN ANGER, THERE’S

A DANGER NGA MAWALA SA ATOA.

Now, there’s only one way to cultivate Patience. That is to

Practice Gratitude. Look with what you have right now. Observe
the things you have. Oftentimes, we forgot that the things we
have right now are the things we were once been praying.
Favorite shirt nimo, favorite dress, dream
cellphone, dream school, dream course, dream family or unsa
pa man nga imong giampo kaniadto. Learn to appreciate them.
Savor them. Taste the feeling of that blessing that once you
were dreaming about having. Once you practice this attitude, dli

People who were feeling grateful were also better at patiently

delaying gratification. When given the choice between getting an
immediate cash reward of 1,000,000 or waiting 2 years for a larger
amount of 5,000,000. Less grateful people would crave for an instant
1,000,000 rather than 5,000,000 in 2 years. Grateful people,
however, could hold out until the amount reached in two years. If
we’re thankful for what we have today, we will not ask for more or
better circumstances immediately. Then we learn to be patient.
 Regardless of the exact aim of this phrase, the admonition is good for
everyone who wants to do the Lord's will. God's timetable may differ
from ours. We tend to want an immediate answer to our prayers, but
the Lord is never in a rush. He may not answer us immediately, but
He has promised to answer, "in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16).
Waiting on the Lord draws us close to Him and teaches us to be
patient.

 The Christian life is not easy. There are many adversaries, trials, and
temptations. We need to be strong and courageous in the power of
the Lord (John 16:33).

Whether you’re 7 or 70, waiting isn’t easy. James reminds us that good
things come to those who wait and it starts with perspective. View
everything in life in light of the end – for then you will be able to see what is
truly important. The lesson may not be applicable to all of us right at this
moment, but be it a reminder that we have to wait. Kailangan nato
maghulat. BE PATIENT. Rest Assured, while we wait, it’s worth the wait.

END: Praise God! Tanan dungog himaya, mga pagpasalamat akong ibalik
sa atong buhi nga Dios. Amen.
